a salary and transfer spend cap. Then it s a sporting achievement, not a marketing/sponsorship/investment thing. not linked to turnover of each club, linked to what the lowest turnover is in that years competition. Level playing field.
Tbh Pochettino was too stubborn or fixated when it came to transfers. The journalists close to spurs, particularly Alistair Gold say that the year we spent nothing was because Pochettino's main targets were Ndombele and Sessegnon and neither were available so he chose to wait to get them rather than get alternatives. Ndombele Lo Celso, Clarke, Sanchez, Gedson, Nkoudou, Janssen, Aurier Njie and Sessegnon cost a total of approx £252m and all have been unmitigated disasters . All were Pochettino's signings and players he wanted. Pochettino improved players and got some good ones in. Dele, Son, Trippier, Wanyama, Moura, Llorente cost a total of £90m approx and were all very good signings. Sissoko was way over priced at £30m but was a decent player for 2 seasons. Levy has a lot to answer for but not giving Pochettino money ain't one of them imho. But Levy has tested the fans patience by bringing in Maureen and Nuno and subjecting us to near unwatchable football. Conte walking would spark serious fan protest and he can not afford that. The board and Levy got complacent with no fans around . Apparently, they were taken aback by the ferocity of the fans reactions during and after the United game like it was a shock to them
That's just bollocks Gave assurances they could leave They threw hissy fits and got ****ed over by his hissy fit. Modric should thank him...he went to a fsr better team as a result and won 4 CLs. Kane deserved to be ****ed over for acting a **** in public before the season was finished. Transfer request by Gary Neville interview? Arrogant twat
I agree with a salary and transfer cap. I've spoken about it before on here, and whilst it's fraught with employment law issues it would immediately remove the ability for the rich clubs to simply buy their way to the top. I'd also like to see something like the NFL draft system brought in, where the clubs who finish in the lower positions get first pick on the best young players. I know it's a completely different system in football, but I'd like to see something similar implemented
Levy is a shyster who goes back on his word. If Conte has trusted him that he'll spend his way out of your mess then he's in for a rude awakening.
I know he's a nobhead of a pundit but how can any Spurs fan (which Ohara is) expect a team of Sanchez, Doherty, Dele, Gollini Sessegnon and Ndombele to beat anyone 4 or 5 nil ? I don't know a single Spurs fan who rates any of them. They can't tackle, can't pass, can't attack can't cross, can't defend, can't track runners, can't mark and can't be arsed. Conte started them cos he has started first team players in all of his previous games...none will get another start and hopefully not get any more game time.
You were playing a load of postmen and plumbers from a mining village so it’s fair enough to have expected Ndombele to have looked almost at his level.
