I think what Supercon is eluding too is our style.....Defense will always breach if it's continually under attack....We need to hold it up better and not allow teams to control the game..
I agree in a perfect world but most teams we play in the Championship have a lot better and more experienced players. It's easy to say what we should be able to do but with our limited and youthful players it's very difficult. Last night a combination of guts, luck and sheer determination got City the win. On to Sheffield.
It's odd, as individually I think most on here do/have agreed that we have some good players, certainly good enough to be mid-table to top 10 in Bentley, Kalas, Baker, James, Atkinson, Weimann, Martin, HNM; however, put them all together and the sum seems to be less than the parts? This is where the coaching and management have to be better IMO. We only had 2 inexperienced players on the pitch last night, and again a month or so ago some people were championing NP for giving youth a chance, and now it's a limitation
Also Williams, plus O'Dowda who looked on song the last couple of games.. I have to say, I agree with all of that.. There is, I believe a decent team in there....It's finding the right combination and tactics to get the best from them.
do you keep on repeating the same old bleats? the answer is no, but I do like to make comparisons over time. It is amazing how many people see the same things from a different perspective .. say things like he is no good there or not his position or we could have won by 6-0 or is a penalty was a penalty so and so is cra* etc ... or if that had gone in it would have been different ... well the latter comment is probably the only correct one... I shall be watching the whole game tonight ... when a friend brings it over, I can stop it rewind it and probably cross check comments or accuracies of pundits etc.... When you have family that is ill you put them first ... as an aside my friend at the game has the phone connected so I get the crowd noise and he comments on some bits ... not every game, as he only goes to some, but did last night, doesnt video it as is at back of the stand.
A couple bottles of doombar, chunk of extra mature and a big handful of mixed cheese crackers, my stop watch and 2 and a half hours later all done! BCFC v SCFC 1 - 0 Took a long time getting there but HNM claim for a penalty was a farcical shout defender had hold of his hair and pretty much used momentum to drag him over .... Compared to a couple of other games I have watched did not seem to be as much crowding back, with a little more space. The game lacked fluidity .. rather staccato like ... Bakinson is fairly composed, gets in some good positions and passing is above average .. HNM is a little terrier, but seems to have a little bit of change inso much as he tries not to do everything [ difficult to explain ] but might be the making of him. stats wise stop watch showed 28 mins of active possession [when Bents is holding before passing it out not counted ] made it 2 more shots than beeeb. ALL in all [ with advantage of knowing result! and rewind ,] would say STOKE looked by far the better team, until last 10 mins or so when they got a bit ragged, ratty and were looking at no points, they got away with a few dodgy tackles. sending off was justice
Heckingbottom won promotion to the Championship with Barnsley before a brief spell in charge at Leeds United ended in June 2018. Has not really done a lot since LJ set him up.... lets hope we dont get him off to a flyer !!!!!!!!!
