Review of English football commissioned after super league has released its findings - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59406087 Summary of main recommendations: The government should create a new independent regulator (IREF) IREF should oversee financial regulation in football IREF should establish new owners' and directors' tests A new corporate governance code should be set up Equality, diversity and inclusion plans should be mandatory for all clubs Supporters should be consulted on all key off-field decisions through a 'shadow board' Key items of club heritage should be protected by a 'golden share' for fans There should be more support from the Premier League to the pyramid through a solidarity transfer levy, paid by Premier League clubs on buying players from overseas or other top-flight clubs Women's football should be treated equally and given its own review Stakeholders should work to increase protection of welfare of players leaving the game As ever they key will be in the detail but at first glance a lot of it looks good imo.
On these two points: I'd like to see fan representation on the board of each club, through the various supporters trusts. Rather than just fan 'consultation', they should have a seat on the board and be involved in the decision making at the club. A certain number of shares should be ringfenced for supporters, so that clubs are never exclusively owned by one individual or company and so that it strengthens the validity of having a shareholder/supporter representation on the board.
Nothing will change. They are all corrupt, and will manipulate whatever rules are brought in. Any UK governing government as a whole will not have the balls to implement whatever is required, if they try to they will get taken through the courts. Tracey Crouch has good intentions and means well, but we need to remember here, it's Saudi state money involved, and along with the powers that be within Man City, she hasn't a hope in hell of taming there. You need look no further than FIFA and Qatar for evidence of that. Anything such as fan panels etc, will just be fancy bunting on a shhite parade.
ps.this topic would have been good as it's own thread. It could have grown with progress of whatever is implemented and discussed.
Embarrassing from Klopp, calling Africans "little". Hope Mane doesn't give him c0ck tonight. The babbling rambling excuse was poor as well
I stand with the Africans mate. You should send that to Klopp. He might think again before he opens his goofy gob.
Nah i love when peeps pull out the race card, taking it out on behalf of a whole continent is a new one but im all for it. I just apologise for being white and privileged and that usually quells any hang ups about slavery ect The journo in question has my backing to create racism where there is none im all for it.
Paris St-Germain and France forward Kylian Mbappe, 22, is tipped to leave when his contract expires in the summer, with Newcastle United among the clubs who could make a move for the World Cup winner. (Express)
Poch has been told by PSG to sit down like a good little boy and behave himself I might be allowed to think about Man United after the season is finished
