Jesus Christ. It's astonishing how ****ing abysmal Steve Bruce really was. We played a decent formation with good pairings and had Lascelles/Hayden injured during out excellent run last season. That was the last time that XI ever stepped onto a pitch, in that formation. I mean, it's A-Grade stupidity from the ex-coaching idiots.
Firstly, we aren’t Man City….yet. I’m talking Newcastle players. Secondly, who is better? Thirdly, I do understand which is why Joelinton isn’t a better footballer than Max. I may have posted a thread praising him but that is based on that one game. He’s not, at Newcastle, played at that level before and he has to prove he can repeat that level of performance not once or twice but regularly. Fourthly, you can usually tell who the good players in your team are by listening to the opposition fans and manager. I’ve seen plenty references to Max but can’t remember one for Big Joe, at least, favourable ones anyway.
Joelinton is the best footballer in the team if not its jonjo or Wilson. Max is the most dangerous which is very different
Going forward, completely agree - defensively however, still lacking - for Brentford's second goal he was standing outside the box watching on while their player stole in at the back post as Murphy had gone inside to cover off one of the strikers
That was Willock's man that Murphy was caught covering for to be fair. However 1 performance from Joelinton and Shelvey does not make up for the utter gash they have produced so far. A decent game on Saturday regardless of score from both on Saturday may convince me it was more than just a fluke..... and before anyone chimes up with Joelinton is our player of the season type thing, that will be your opinion that your entitled to. For me Player of the Season is without a doubt Martin Dubravka, lad hasn't let a single goal past him and has never been on a losing team this year.
That's what you think but it's not true. It would appear Howe has seen it too. Like I say he's going to shine in a side that's playing football.. Why? Because he's a good footballer not a clogger.
Agreed, but ultimately Murphy is covering someone else's man, not the back post while Shelvey looked on
I I've just explained No look at the thread mate I've been saying it ages and I'm now even more certain.
Problem is that it doesn’t change how Joelinton has played up to now. One good game in 2 and a half years. He may be Messi’esque from now on but that won’t make him our best player today. And it’s today we are talking about.
Messi hasn't played well for PSG but it doesn't change the fact he's their best player. I knew I was right. It's all about an ability to see ability I guess aswel as identifying the problems.
Because Messi has done it, and done it and done it again. Big Joe on the other hand…. The ability you’re referring to I think is commonly called wumming.
I've seen Joelinton some very good things over the last two years. I always knew he could play in a side that played properly. He's a very capable footballer and I was right. Simple as that.
