the most important thing is that crooks gets tested for dementia. he's at that age now where the few faculties these ballers had fade badly. I'm surprised for the past 10 years he hasn't been diagnosed tbh.
Is it Garth Crooks who puts everyone who scored in his team of the week? He's one of the ever increasing number of people, not only in football but in general, who you read and come away questioning your own sanity as the writing seems designed to leave you feeling less informed than you were to start with. Klopp said post match that Arteta was calling for Mané to be carded and he wasn't having it. He said that Mané has clearly been targeted in recent games including the one in which he had to remove him from the pitch. He said it's unacceptable and he's not keeping quiet about it any longer. I agree with him. I've said for ages that Mané is targeted all the time and I don't know how he keeps his cool. He very rarely gets anything from referees and it's as if the opposition know this. I wonder whether the frustration of it all is sapping his confidence a little bit.
It's obvious that he only ever watches two or three games at best, and the rest of his article comes from highlights or match reports. This is fair enough in one sense - it's a bit much to watch ten games over a weekend - but it's not enough to give a proper assessment of the weekend's games. Seems like he just phones it in, but I imagine he gets paid a big wodge of license-payers money to do what any pointless hack could do just as well.
