Really interesting. This is really important info that, as far as I aware (from conversations and what I hear) 'joe public' just doesn't seem aware of. Like me, most people I come across seem to think it (vaccination) doesn't reduce transmission nor the likelihood of catching COVID, but 'just' (!) lessens the severity if you catch it. This data shows really significant benefit in terms of reducing transmission and reduced risk of catching it. I don't understand why this data isn't front and centre.
Which point exactly It's because it's incorrect...here's a twitter link to update ONS week 46 figures per 100,000 Significently more vaccinated per 100,000 are catching covid but signifecently better odds when it comes to other outcomes, which is what the vaccines were meant to do so what jo public were saying was correct on this one. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-vaccine-weekly-surveillance-reports
That link doesn’t disprove the theory that the vaccine reduces transmission or infection rates though. The point he is making is that it’s not true to say ICUs are full of unvaccinated people with covid. Which is a completely different point. The research shows it does reduce both. Not remove the risk, but simply reduces it that’s all.
No offense meant to anyone with what is clearly an oversimplified opinion, based on a lot of ignorance on my part, but if I felt I was vulnerable, I'd just treat everyone else as though they were infectious, and do everything possible to keep myself well out of the way. Even if others are jabbed up to the limit, there's still a risk, so why rely on others?
Absolutely Vaccines are a great thing at ‘population’ level, and for individuals, but individuals might still catch it and get ill. They don’t stop everything, so best way to protect vulnerable people is to avoid contact etc where possible
Good point I didn’t actually read the article but he certainly seems to only post stats that support one view.
The game itself was overshadowed by the continuing discussion over the absent Joshua Kimmich, who is being docked his pay (an estimated €380,000 per week) while quarantining due to his non-vaccinated status in the first big move of Oliver Kahn’s stewardship. Moreover, four more first-teamers were revealed to be in the same boat on Sunday – Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Michael Cuisance – in a situation Bayern will hope to bring to a speedy conclusion before Der Klassiker on the first weekend of December. This wasn’t the most bizarre Covid-related story of the weekend though, with Werder Bremen coach Markus Anfang leaving his post on the eve of the big game with Schalke (which ended in a 1-1 draw) after an investigation was opened into him allegedly forging a vaccination certificate.
You came out with something that was total bullshit, saying the teams came out to a half empty stadium as we were 2-0 up at half time when it was 0-0. And couldn't just accept and hold your hands up and acknowledge it when it was pointed out to you, you pathetic prat. One would have thought you would have a better recollection of your son's favourite game. And you have the nerve to call others out on inaccuracies.
I already acknowledged I was completely wrong, not sure why it bothers you so much, but hey-ho. Have a lovely day. x
When I pointed if out you didn't. You posted a report. I pointed out that you had merely confirmed what I had said, Still no acknowledgement. Only when Chazz backed up my statetement did you acknowledge it to him. A bit like your insistence that the Four Tops had appeared on the bill with Jimi Hendrix.
I sincerely apologise for causing you so much distress, I had no idea that it caused this long term anguish and I'm deeply sorry for that. x
