The only way I can see McCann being there after a takeover is if Ilicali has no other options and would McCann even want to stick around in those circumstances?
Bruce was taken on with a large severance because he was there to do a job. McCann was put there to do a job but without the large severance You tell me what you'd do?
I'd stay in the job as long as the owners wanted me and force their hand to sack me? Why would he walk away?
We may be getting a new manager but I have heard nothing about a new coach. Perhaps, and I'm guessing here, Grant McCann might be asked if he fancied stepping down to first team coach until the new regime get established ? The new owner trusts the Allams and they trust McCann? When all said and done we are only a couple of players short of a decent team at this level and a bit lacking tactically.
I can’t see anyway mcann will stay or want to stay unless it’s as manager or is it coach now? New owners will want their own man in. If they have a vision for this club then they’ll want someone who they already know to push it through.
So that's the clearest example of a recent takeover where the manager remained in charge past the takeover (granted, for one game).
Yes but presumably Bruce wanted that. My post proposed that McCann wouldn't want to, whether he was asked to or not.
Accepted, but I think he would want to stay as long as possible. No manager would ever voluntarily walk just because new owners have come in.
If the suggestions about Arveladze and Knizinishvali are right he'd likely be third in line, would he want that? I don't know, hopefully the sale goes through and we find out soon enough, before Xmas with luck.
Oh sorry I misunderstood, of course in that case he would go. I thought we were discussing him staying on as Head Coach.
I think I posted earlier that the only way he might be asked to remain is if Ilicali has no other plan in place on day 1. But then he might feel that he's just a dead man walking and he might just prefer to be out. But, what do I know? Bugger all, just like most at the moment.
