If he’s played 3-5-2 all season who knows where we be Al and most likely there’s be no talk of sacking him
I've just said on the MOTM thread that the players looked unshackled and good going forward. I can't fathom why McCann has taken so long to work this out.
The problem is that these improved performances have really come when his hand has been forced.... no full backs today so what were his options... I cant remember who was out against Middlesbrough but similar situation...
He hasn’t worked it out, that’s the point, he didn’t have the players to play his beloved 433, he’ll revert asap though. He’s no tactical genius. Also don’t forget they played a half with 10 men.
Exactly. He does it only when he's forced into it. History has shown that he would almost certainly revert back to same old if players were fit ... and that's part of why he still has to go. .
Nah. He’s been unlucky and thats now turning around. He’ll get a job elsewhere soon enough and thrive. Good luck to him.
Wouldn’t disagree with a word of that. My point was more that the signs were there against the Moggies and a couple times since that the players look happier playing as a 5-3-2 but yet as you say (and regardless of injuries) he will indeed revert.
Yep, fully agree, he’s unluckily played 433 all season, unless he’s been unable to due to injuries, then, shock/horror, we’ve won a couple of games, time to revert back to 433!
Thoroughly enjoyed that, great performance by everyone and was nice to see familiar faces, glad to be back.
Did I hear in Terry's post match that he expects to leave the club when the takeover is complete? He said he got the bullet from Pish when they changed ownership and quote 'that's football' said in a sighful, soulful, that's the way it is tone.
not quite but he did mention he was gone within a week at Pish. He did say he hadn’t spoken to the new owners.
He's already had his compensation package agreed and he's more then happy with it. Best of luck to him in his next role... Hopefully the role will give him the freedom to actually be a manager without having both arms plus a leg tied behind his back.
No idea what we’ll do for Cardiff, presumably we’ll still have no full backs and now we’ll be missing Bernard as well. Smallwood in a back three?
