Looks like Pam Sly has another nice horse out of Speciosa as Special Caceau (by Nathaniel) takes the Huntingdon bumper

So glad to see Sue Smith's Joke Dancer was OK after his last fence fall. Jumped really well for most of the race, and is certainly one for the notebook. There's a good future for him over the fences. <ok>

A Plus Tard couldn’t have won the Betfair in better style but not sure that’s Gold Cup form. The front 2 took turns to make mistakes at each fence, Waiting Patiently beyond poor and the Ivy Grower’s horse fell before it got serious.

I think it was pretty impressive Chan - did it on the snaff and could have gone round again. A first marker for the Gold Cup for sure. I was worried that his first run last season was disappointing but he was ready today and never looked in danger.

Thank you Oddy, (CSF of 10.99 quid will show a small profit) and, again, a hearty well-done to all the winners on the forum today! <ok>

(Digressing, still shaking after the South Africa game. What a thriller. Admit to taking a mild swipe at you (just mild!) on your England vs Australia comment last weekend. Know you'll give it back to me in spades should you disagree with my comment! <laugh> No disrespect was intended on my part, not at all, just thought the game was not that bad after re-analysing it (on the 'Other Sports' section). Got to take a pill or something to stop the 'shakes'! ;))

Continue having a great weekend! :emoticon-0167-beer:

Yes it definitely looked very impressive just not sure what the beaten horses will go onto achieve this season. Struggling to think of a serious British trained GC contender. If i had to have a bet on a GB horse right now it would be Secret Reprieve EW at 50s

It is difficult isn’t it? Lostintranslation perhaps if he can go on from today. But the rest don’t look good enough at the moment.

Not important, Oddy, forget it! It was when you did that huge post on that 'sporting weekend' a few days ago.(when Ireland had that incredible win against the All Blacks). Thought you mentioned that the England/Australia game was 'Chalk & Cheese' compared to the other RU games that day. Agreed at first, but only on reflection, thought it was a bit harsh on the England/Oz game. That's all, 'Water under the bridge' already! :emoticon-0100-smile :bandit:

It was my post Swany about the different matches and styles of play... One thrilling, the other, well, less said in my eyes... Water under the bridge my friend, all water under the bridge...:emoticon-0105-wink: :emoticon-0142-happy

<doh> Oh good grief, apologies to both you and Oddy. Really got muddled-up there! :( :bandit:

(Quite a game yesterday, England vs South Africa. That's what sport's all about. The Springboks can take pride in never giving-up and fighting it out to the end. Super entertainment! <ok>).

I was at Haydock on Saturday Swany so missed the game live but i have caught up with the highlights since and it look a right ole proper game of Rugby. You can't beat a last minute try, kick or even drop-kick to win a match in the dying seconds...!!
