Seems strange that there doesn't appear to be VAR in the Dutch Norway game where a Norweigan lad just went over the top of the ball and put his studs into the Dutch lads knee, yet ref didn't even give a free kick, but would surely had been a card of some colour using VAR........ The Dutch lad has had to hobble off with stud marks down the side of his knee and been replaced.........

As you can tell there's bugger all of note to say about the game.........

Couldn’t be arsed to make a new thread but listening to the Guardian football weekly podcast and they say African players have to be available from Dec 27th unless the nations allow them to join their squads for the ACoN late. In theory no Chair or Dieng for Bournemouth.

...and they'll be gone until potentially the second game in February if they get to the final, so missing around 7 games. Could hit us hard, but hopefully it'll hit other teams too so could balance out.

I’d have thought not many Champ teams will be as affected as us given the importance of those two. Willock never looks the same without Chair on the pitch and Archer.. no idea really.

And Canada defeated Mexico 2-1 with Cyle Larin (club team iBeşiktaş) scoring both goals last evening at Edmonton's Commonwwealth stadium, now known as Iceteca after Mexico's famed Estadio Azteca. where temperature at kickoff was -9. In true form of teams I support, Canada gave up the goal in the 90th minute and nearly coughed up another in the 94th

Does that mean they get to go to Qatar to play in +50?

We are in a series of 14 matches, against 7 other countries. At the end of that series, the top 3 go to Qatar in +50, the fourth placed team will play a home and away against a country from anther federation, with the winner also going to Qatar. That usually means New Zealand but they haven't said so yet this year. Until at least the next international break, Canada is in first place after 8 games. The US is second and Mexico and Costa Rica are tied for third.

So, it seems we can sometimes play in snow and ice - maybe we'll find out if was can play in hot and dry too. But only 2 points separate 1st and 4th right now

Stockport came back from 0-2 and 1-3 to lead Bolton 5-3 in extra time. How the mighty have fallen since they were in the Prem...

What a full blooded, end to end entertaining cup tie though, at least the bits I watched and a big crowd (unusual for cup ties these days) created a great atmosphere!

Over 10,000 at Stockport for this game, which is more than we'd have got for a home tie against Bolton. County were absolutely the best side though, and deserved the win. Bolton managed by ex-Rangers CB Ian Evatt.

The European play offs are 1 off matches, with the seeded teams getting home advantage ! Seems a bit loaded to me

Completely overrun here on the Gold Coast……

If NZ govt wanted all Kiwis to return to their homeland, they’d have to build a third island!

Footnote - Our neighbours are Kiwis.
