Good Morning. It's Thursday 18th November, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Ayling and Shackleton may return at Spurs Leeds fans will be relieved to hear that both Luke Ayling and Jamie Shackleton may be fit to participate in Sunday afternoon's Premiership clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Ayling damaged his knee during the Newcastle Utd encounter two months ago, and subsequently had to undergo minor surgery. Shackleton picked up a muscular injury at Carrow Road, which has seen the 22yo sidelined for three weeks. Leeds have definitely missed Ayling's surging runs down the right flank. His link-up play in the final third played a big part in Leeds success last season. please log in to view this image CBF intervene on Raphinha's assault The Brazilian Football Confederation (Confederação Brasileira de Futebol or the CBF for short) are set to ask FIFA to intervene following Nicolás Otamendi’s vicious assault on Raphinha yesterday morning. The former Citeh ace was caught elbowing the Leeds winger in the face, knocking him to the ground in the process. He subsequently received five stitches. As the incident was not picked up by the referee, FIFA have the powers to retrospectively punish Otamendi for his cowardly act. please log in to view this image Pundit predicts easy win for Tottenham Former England and Liverpool legend Michael Owen believes Leeds will struggle in North London at the weekend, and has predicted an easy three points for Antonio Conte's team. “The international break came at just the right time for Spurs and has allowed Conte a couple of weeks to find his feet and work on the training ground. “He’s a fantastic coach but he’ll need time to get his ideas across. Remarkably, Spurs have had the fewest shots in the league although I’m sure that will change. “Leeds are unbeaten in three but need to convert some of these draws into wins. They’ve got just one clean sheet in the league, no one has less. “I can’t see this being a good away trip for Leeds. I think Conte will look to kick-start his Spurs tenure here and his players will be really up for this. 2-0 Spurs.” please log in to view this image Finance expert slaps 250m valuation on Leeds Football finance expert Kieran Maguire has slapped a conservative valuation of £250m on Leeds Utd following the San Franciso 49ers latest investment into the West Yorkshire club. The Major League Baseball outfit now have a 44% stake, following their recent 7% purchase, costing them in the region of 17m - 20m. “They have had a successful first season in the Premier League,” “By getting that second season, it guarantees you three years worth of parachute payments as opposed to two. “That is a big advantage. The merchandise sales have been good and the commercial deals have exceeded expectations. “All of those are positives. That will have a northerly on the value as far as the overall impact is concerned. “We can conservatively value Leeds at around £250m. Southampton went for £260m, Newcastle went for £305m, so I think £250m is very reasonable. “So an extra seven per cent is somewhere in the region of £17m to £20m.” The valuation seems quite low considering (and hoping) that if Leeds had to sell Phillips, Raphinha and Meslier, you wouldn't get much change from 250m (or am I being overly optimistic). please log in to view this image
Morning all Lots of pundits predicting who is fit and whos not. I believe we will see Ayling and Firpo and could even see Bamford back for this Spurs away trip Shaks should be on the bench with luck rather than starting because we need to see pace and attacking down the right and link up play between Ayling and Raphinha. If Ayling is still out I would prefer to see Drameh than Shaks and young Cody does attack down the right flank. Slight problem though as Drameh has been away with the England U21s so not worked on tactics with Bielsa much? Speaking of the England U21s we saw Cresswell Drameh and Sam Greenwood play and Sam scored his first U21 goal on his debut. Keiron Maguire values the club at £250m and Radz values it at £400m. I think Maguire is being conservative and Radz has been optimistic, but if Southampton went for £260m and Newcastle with a decaying infrastructure and asset list went for £305m I would guess we may be valued at £320m. Brilliant result whichever option you go for. Sound management
This should be good, and I remember posting about Orta scouting Alfies lad but didnt realise we had come this close to signing him
Morning all, Has Ayling featured in any under 23's games yet? If not can we really see Bielsa throw him straight back in? He didn't even start Phillips straight away
The issue with the U23s this season has been a lack of U23 stars because the first team have had so many injuries. I cannot see the next U23 game having Ayling Firpo Koch and Bamford all getting minutes. I think Bielsa has had a couple of weeks to get plenty of game time into all who are ready to come back. Practice matches would have been played because so many from the club have been away on International duty right from the U16s to the first team. 2 weeks of disruption will have forced a rethink in my opinion. We are supposed to have a 23 match tomorrow but not confirmed yet if the match is happening Friday Saturday Sunday or even Monday yet. Friday would give us an idea but before that there will be a presser from Bielsa so may find out
our london record is abysmal and michael "bore" owen isn't going to set himself up as the new nostradamus with that prediction......let me have a go rangers or celtic to win scotch premiership now how's that for a bold one mick
How can you take the guy seriously when he comes out with such pearls of wisdom as "Whichever team scores more goals usually wins" ?
Laugh my arse off, lets see how Dan Roan gets out of this one Rafiq has just had to apologise for some tweets he sent back in 2011 which were anti jew and anti semetic. Oh dear shyt happens
In other footy news the officials involved innthe recent Brazil, Argentina match have been suspended due to the obvious assault on Raphinha and the VAR official could be gone for goo for the obvious way he ignored evidence
He has been excused because he is not white and has apologised. He said he was 19 at the time and still young. Yet he brings up stuff said to him at 15.looks like another hypocrite has been caught out.
