Reason why the opposition is so "weak" as you put it is down to several factors. One being the media bias towards the right-wing, secondly the FPTP system. If we had PR, you would get a Governrnent much more representative of the people than the UK has ever had. As much as it pains me, there would have been more UKIP members which would have been a fair outcome in recent elections given the support they had. Was it 10% or 15% and no representation? That amounts to what, 60 or seats if distributed on the basis of votes cast. No wonder certain people got angry as their voices were not heard.

I should clarify, I think Johnson will be replaced by his own party, not the opposition. He's becoming a liability, although who the hell is going to replace him ? Gove, Raab, Patel ? **** me, the stuff of nightmares !!!

 

I suppose you didn't read my comment about PR as a fairer voting system But to highlight your view, since when have the Express, Mail, Telegraph, Sun been anything other than right-wing. The BBC seems to be non-critical, likewise ITV. I don't think Sky are noted for their left-wing bias.either.

There is no left and right any more. They're all just politicians.
Labour don't represent the real people which is why they've been out of government so long. Labour now attracts media luvvies and people who live in cities.
Neither of the main parties look after ordinary, tax paying, working Brits.
Yes, we do need a Party to represent the people but I'm not sure you'd like it.
PR doesn't work, you get coalition governments that don't get anything done or worse it gives a larger voice to extreme parties.

The BBC basically fail to hold anyone in the government to account on anything, so how they can be seen to be left is a mystery to me.
