We'll see. But , despite the poor run ( runs now it is fair to say) , even a defeat on Saturday would not necessarily mean a sacking at all. We would still be in touch with the top two, with about 100 points to play for, and after KLD'S. remarks regarding long term plans and so on, booting yet another manager out after less than four months of a season sees that strategy out of the window. If not in the owner's mind, then probably in the mind of anyone outside the club, given the revolving door that we have been now for a decade under three different owners. Maybe, but as usual, getting one out is always a lot easier than getting a better one in.
whatever happens and whatever the result i sincerely hope the supporters think long and hard about booing...seasoned players may well take it on the chin and realise they need to do something to improve but these young lads are facing an entirely new experience and it could cause them 'do a rodwell'. the lads are learning, they will make mistakes yet i still cannot recall a single one who has let the side down in any way at all whether first team squad or cup games...i think the fans in general have tried hard to get behind the lads in fairness, but we all know how those disgruntled voices tend to ring around at the final whistle.
Wasn't going to comment given my circumstances however. He doesn't and won't accept weakness. ..you'll here loads from local forums and fanzines but seriously. Don't under estimate this guy.
Think he means this by “sea to shining sea. “There’ll no votes of confidence given by Johnson’s superior. And I’ll make a prediction that this board will be busy tomorrow”
New contract in the offing then...... Seriously, sacking him now would make no sense having just come off the back of an international break
O’Brien is probably the closest we have to that ilk. We need three more , good enough to stake their place in the first team… ideally down the spine of the team: front, middle n back.
Well it would if they have used the break to line up a replacement they are more confident in. We will see if it’s the case if he is sacked and replaced very quickly.
I think lining someone up can happen during the normal season and then bring the new guy in to have 2 weeks to work with the players. That would be the sensible option. It's no coincidence that Norwich, Villa, Spurs & Middlesbrough have disposed of their managers immediately before the 2 week break
The club have a long term plan, not a 4 month plan, LJ position will be reviewed at the end of the season. KTF
Pretty much sums up my opinions on booing players. With one of the youngest squads, how can anyone think booing is going to benefit us? Even if you’re booing Johnson, you’re booing at the players. Absolutely baffles me
There are more "probable" bullshitters over there than genuine posters......they've taken over the forum, which is why a lot of decent posters have abandoned ship.
Spot on marra, but I was at the Mansfield match and had to wait until the booing subsided before I could applaud the players as they circled the centre circle. It felt a bit uneasy but the players need to know there are fans behind them.
