Problem will lie with variety of spud, you really need spud with thick skin like King Eddy,these washed white baking spuds are crap at crisping up coz skin is thin.
No idea about the variety of potatoes. They come in the organic veg box covered in thick muck and I bake the massive ones. Will try baking higher temp and for longer.
Toastie sarnie maker who still uses them? Buy it give it the bifters for a fortnight store in cupboard. Ditto for pasta make ,although top tip for pasta maker if you buy puff pastry you can roll it thinner in a pasta machine ,I do this when making sausage rolls.Mightn't be quite as puffed up but still puff up and you can make more sausage rolls .
I never use oil. I microwave them before putting it in the oven to crisp them up. Works every time, easy and quicker.
My wife made me get rid of mine... Sure, I hadn't used it in twenty years, but it was part of my university days... I still cry nightly thinking about my toastie maker...
I still dig ours out occasionally. I say ours, it's my wife's from when she went to uni. There is no other way to quite get a nice cheese toastie than in a breville or somesuch. Under the grill or even in a hot plate press thingy just isn't the same. I've even thought about buying a new, double one.
I've tried just microwaving them but they come out wrinkled and with bits that are still raw. May try micro and then oven
Sandwich toasters. So theres the teflon bag you can put your sandwich in the regular toaster. Theres a george foreman grill which can replicate the effect of the grill. Theres your grill in the oven. I dont see the point in a sandwich toaster. It's the type of excess that's have gretta thunberg watching you through your window.
Gretta Thunberg would approve of sandwich maker. Applies heat directly to sandwich more efficiently. Lots more wasted heat with the other appliances. No empty air to heat.
