The elephants studied were in a national park in Mozambique - during a time period that included the Mozambican civil war.

As an evolutionary process Elephants were being born without tusks - a process which may be evolutionary in that it makes them less attractive to hunters. Swallows are starting to be born with shorter wings in order to be safer from cars. Both cases in which animals are evolving to better protect themselves from us ?

Cheers BB. Which famous musician was descended from a Lord Mayor of London, with whom he also shared the same family name ?

There was a Lord Mayor of London called Brass Crosby. Bing Crosby had ancestors from the UK. If there is a direct link though I don't know.

This is a British musician Frenchie. His great, great, great uncle was the Lord Mayor of London and bore the same name.

That's the one Frenchie - his Great Great Great Uncle was Sir Thomas Gabriel who was the Mayor of London from 1866 to 1877. Over to you.

    Thanks cologne.
The charge was to create a game that was easy to assimilate, yet complex enough to be interesting. It had to be playable indoors or on any kind of ground, and by a large number of players all at once. It should provide plenty of exercise, yet without the roughness of football, soccer, or rugby since those would threaten bruises and broken bones if played in a confined space.

What was the game that came out of it?

The plan was divised by an American physician - and targetted adults and children alike.

No. The physician devised the plan in response to a shortage of something caused by the Korean War.

The physician who devised the plan had been testifying at the Nuremberg war trials and got the idea from somethng he noticed on members of the Nazi Waffen-SS.
