What usually turns their heads unfortunately is the wages, it seems a number of plays seem to be happy sitting on the bench at a EPL club just to get the money, rather than playing week in week out.
Koren wont go in January. He has stated already that he wants one more payday and that means leaving when his contract ends at the end of the season
You saying he is already lining up a move away from the KC to another club to finish his career? Where and when did he say this?
This thread has been a decent read and it is good to see real balance and thought in the posts. Oli and McShane can play a big role, as can Barmby. Pearson will know the ones who he wants shot of and as for the rest, if they want to stay as Tigers they are more than welcome; if they are attracted by the bucks then they can fek off and make room for another star in the making. Koran is a centre mid-fielder; to move him would be a crime UTT
Exactly what I was going to say . When did Koren say this ? One thing Rob isn't and that's some sort of mercenary looking for a quick buck. Do not rule out an extension to his contract .
That's why I said if he starts knocking some goals in in the next few weeks. If he demonstrates he can perform and have an end product at this level SAF might might well decide that it's worth giving him a few months at a PL side to see how he does. Worst case it's going to increase his value if they decide to sell him after that.
I'd like Koren to stay, playing some good stuff in central midfield with him in the middle. He's wasted on the wing IMHO
Koren didn't say it, Adam Pearson did in the interview with Humberside in pre-season. He said rumours of teams wanting to buy Koren were false and in his opinion, Koren would rather get to the end of his contract and assess his options.
Nah I reckon thats Bull, it might have been right at the time your saying he said those things but he seems really content now !!! Cant seem him going anywhere, he looks to be enjoying his football and if anything he will sign a contract extension.
How does he seem content now?? How do you measure that then? Did he look discontented recently? You do talk some bollocks. If an offer comes in to double or treble his wages then any player would be a fool not to take it.
Koren has played very well of late bit can anyone honestly see a Premier League team coming in for him ? Even if they did he wouldn't be guaranteed a start which he pretty much is with us and he isn't the sort of bloke who 'd be happy warming a bench . Maybe a big pay day in Saudi or somewhere similar awaits but for me he's too young to be thinking of that . He's enjoying his football and is settled here so don't rule out him extending his stay .
He may tempt one of the 3 promoted clubs and someone like Wolves or Blackburn but if we're doing well like we are doing i can't see him wanting to jump ship from a potential promotion battle to a relegation battle. However I think there's plenty of players like Koren who would generate more interest due to the attention surrounding them, a la Snodgrass and Maynard. I can't see Koren wanting to join a micky mouse league yet either, he's playing in one of the most competative leagues in the world and I can't see him wanting to wind down his career just yet. I was expecting him to leave in the Summer, but he's looked liked the player we saw when he was at West Brom and has a big part to play in what will hopefully be a push for promotion.
James Chester to Leicester for 10 million. They paid 6 million for the moron that is Matt Mills, surely that means Chester is worth 10million quid.
