I’m sitting on the fence at the moment, but will you still agree with him if it all goes tits up over the next 6 month and we are not in the play offs and look absolutely s hit? PS I also remember the same rallying speech from fans who wanted to keep Bruce and Moyes and look where that got us.
I don't agree with that sentiment. At this stage of the season we've probably had more poor performances that good ones. Just because we had some good games doesn't mean we can ignore the poor ones: In my opinion we have played well against Wigan, MK Dons, Wycombe, Burton, Cheltenham, Accrington and Crewe. We were (obviously) poor against Portsmouth, Charlton, Rotherham and Sheff Wed, but our games v Wimbledon, Bolton, Gillingham & Fleetwood showed signs of what was to come. We struggled for long periods in all those games.
I don't think we can afford to wait that long. If we are any more than a couple of points off top spot (and without an obvious upturn in form) then I'd be getting rid mid December. We can't afford another ****ing season in this league
I said experienced players not ****e players. I also said we need to balance the squad out between youth and experience because clearly too much youth doesn't work. If you are against experienced players playing for Sunderland... can one assume you just want young lads playing for Sunderland from this day forward?
The person responsible who has left us with a bunch of kids with very little experience should be on a final written now. If that's LJ then so be it. I doubt it, though. KLD could easily afford to spend a few million to fire us out of this league. He's choosing against that option so I hope he does the decent thing and sticks with the manager he's handicapping.
Clearly not,if we are not at least in the play offs. I'm on record on here to say we must have promotion this season.....nothing else will do.
We can't ignore the poor performances mate, but we can learn from them. If it turns out we haven't learned, then we will have to conclude our head coach needs to be replaced.
Totally agree. If our form doesn't pick up by the Plymouth match, then I think we have a problem and KLD has to act. As you say,we definately do not want another season in this horrible league.
5 defeats in a row same formation, any player he can find, the jury is not out for me mate, anyway as I said before be has two more games for me, let’s hope he wins them both, two 1-0s will do me because we could do without the upheaval again.
thing is, i think 'we' allowed those early wins to cloud our judgement in some way, those 2-1's were mainly grabbed while hanging on and not while totally dominating teams...'we' also expected the team to improve as the young lads got used to the team, playing regularly and learning, so again some lee-way was allowed. the fact the team has not really played badly but began gifting goals to teams was/is the worry...i am not sure the overall standard of play has dropped off but more likely teams know how to get at us now, the manager/coach is the man to look at this and change the style and so far nothing has really changed, either that or we need someone on the pitch who can spot a problem/weakness and move players to counter it.
We've got some great players. I think the fact they are young could be good or bad. Ok we have older players like mcgeady etc but we need one or two hard bastards like Benno, cattermole, Rae, Cana, Ball esque players. Don't let the young uns lose their spirit, get some hard bastard to pep them up and dish out some shìt. I might be talking crap but it's my opinion lol
We definitely need a couple in the squad, we're too soft mentally and physically. Who would you say are our tough players? There's barely anyone. I don't want a squad full of them as our footballing ability is our standout quality but it's an area we're lacking in and it helps to stop you capitulating which we are capable of.
Someone like Cana would be mint. Big character willing to take responsibility and lead by example. We might need KLD to get his wallet out for it.
