Indeed. A few games soon, and some very basic Diego fodder is delivered. On that note, if Kane wins the PL "golden boot" this season, then tis irrefutable proof that the spirit of HIAG has returned from the void.
Assuming they are ignoring the days before football started (1992) then it'll be 173 in 222 games. What might have been eh?
A strike rate of 0.78. which currently has : - Kane with a rate of 0.65 (79 in 121) - Shearer having played in 2.2x more PL games
Was giving things a miss here over the international break, but the man will not let us lie, will he ... Kane has equalled the England scoring record of Lineker (48 goals) , also surpassing Greavsie (44 goals) . Which makes him joint top scorer for an England player who has also played for Spurs. His strike rate (0.72) also near matches Gravsie (0.75) . Will be interesting to see how Southgate handles this now. There will no doubt be international friendlies before the WC finals, and the temptation may be there to get Kane to at least equal on goals with Rooney before the finals proper.
Looking at all England players to have scored 20 or more goals Harry has the 7th best goals per minute in history with a goal every 126 minutes. Of the 6 above him only Greavsie has played in my life time (57 years). 6 to 9 on the list have all played for Spurs the 2 previously mentioned + Lineker and Crouch. Top of the list Vivian Woodward (a goal every 71 mins for England) also played for Spurs at the start of 20th Century.
I shouldn’t imagine that Southgate will be tempted to do anything other than prepare England in the best possible way he can for the tournament. That will likely involve playing Kane to keep his relationship with the other players sharp, but if he breaks the record then it’ll be on his own merit, not because Southgate is shoehorning him into a team that doesn’t want him anymore.
please log in to view this image ****ing hell! He also has the 2nd highest assists with 14, behind Sterling's 15. The real Harry Kane team.
Unreal player, been a privilege watching him these years and knowing we produced him makes it that much sweeter. 234 goals in 365 games for us… that is just absolutely bloody ridiculous.
Wonder if he'll ever met the 10+ PL goals per season squad striker target I hoped for him in 2013 ...
I said way back that I thought he’d make the first team squad but probably not as a starting player. Think at one point I compared him to Robbie Keane too. It’s probably safe to say not a single person other than Kane himself realised just how good he’d become. Honestly a phenomenal player, one of the best I’ve seen in my lifetime by some distance.
Coincidentally, not a single person other than Harry Kane realised just how bad an agent his brother has become...
A phenomenal goal scorer and Levy needs to be working on a way to keep him at Spurs beyond the next two and a half years, which includes a new long term contract and matching Kane`s ambition on the pitch.
