I agree with consistent stewards, no wild swings that way. Lets see if there is a follow up.
Also, it was more than squeezing.

Kind of like wringing the ketchup bottle and whacking it a few times to get the last scraps but in the end lewis was round the outside and looked after himself.

You can be absolutely sure if theres a charging verstappen in the next 3 hamilton will return the favour.

Very true but do you think Max would avoid the contact? I don't think he would as he has a decent points advantage and it's not in his nature.
Much as I dislike some of Max's personality that we see around the track he is fast in that Red Bull.

ignore the offence and concentrate on the driver/team and you will have your consistency.

I'll be honest, I'm much happier when penalties are lenient vs the times when they'd dole out penalties willy nilly.

Also hated seeing that the results had changed 2 hours after a race finished that seemed to happen fairly regularly.

Let's see what this weekend brings. Does anybody have a clue as to why the new engine is so fast? Are they simply turnng the wick up, I doubt that, it surely means burning more fuel.
Could it be compression with a change of materials? Anything else is surely design change,

I'm thinking they have just been conservative until this point, and now they're turning them up for the weekend.

I'm not sure it's just the ICE. I think a big part is the rear suspension reducing drag at high speed.
Red Bull were faster in the twisty middle section and Merc on the straights.
I think that the rear suspension dropping at speed makes a huge difference to aero drag and hence top speed.
Qatar seems to be quite twisty with only 1 real straight so Mercs rear suspension might not be that useful as they need grip on the twisty bits.
Saudi Arabia seems to be more of a 50/50 mix of straight vs fast corners with a couple of hair pins added.
Abu Dhabi is 2 big straights with a tight slow speed section in the middle.

So I would say 1 Merc track and 1 Red Bull track and the other 50/50.
As long as we have reliability and no crashes this is going to be a good close battle right to then end.

I am sure the suspension is a part but does that explain the PU degradation. I assume you think it puts more through the engine. Track position will be key in Qatar. All will come down to quali. But new tarmac, does that reduce the benefit of the Red Bull?

PU degradation is a weird one. From the way Toto talks it sounds like they are not sure on the cause. This is weird as they have had a few ICE back to look at. Can't really see why they don't know the cause unless it's just Toto giving Red Bull hope and more to think about? The more time a team spends trying to understand their competitors the less time they have to work on their own car :)

I am sure Merc know, but explaning reveals something about their construction Merc don't want out there. 3 or 4 of the Merc engineers are going to RBR at the end of this year. I am sure they have been kept away from any development work undertaken this year

I think that was a few laps after the trip off track, zig zagging down between t3 and t4.

Looks like he just tried to go too deep on the brakes rather than anything else.

Still lucky he didn't get a pen, but it removes the suggestion that he opened up the steering. Just goes in way too hot. Think he might have been in a spot of bother otherwise.

While he didn't open up the steering I'm not sure he had anywhere near enough steering angle to make the corner. Great that we see the onboard but it would be even better to see someone do a full analysis of it i.e. previous laps positioning, speed and steering angle etc to compare.
Still think without the data looks like he didn't have enough steering angle to stay on the track, I don't think he had understeer early in the corner as you can see only when he is almost off the track does he tighten the line - who ever said off the track was more grippy than on it!!!

Think he's coming in so hot that if he puts in more input, he's risking seeing the backend come out on him, which could have been an even worse outcome.

Looks similar to Hamilton and Perez and many other incidents.
