No one has ever mentioned Rashford?

Because we have a couple of decent left backs, one of whom (Telles) would fill the wing back role perfectly.

Although Shaw can do it anyway.

We don't have that on the right though.

Sancho would be fine, no idea why you think otherwise.

    'He doesn't track back though'

How about it's his job so, yeah, he does.

It seems that we are both still not listening to each other. As I said your views about the players are entrenched. The manager and coaching may not have come to scratch but it was good enough to get 2nd place. Which many dismissed as nothing. Yet the performances suddenly fell off the cliff this season. Nothing I’ve seen or heard has persuaded me yet that the players shouldn’t shoulder some of the ****. I’ve already given my views about the manager not being good enough and not able to taking the club forward. And yes that includes holding players accountable. But suddenly we are going backwards, with performances simply shameful and that cannot be put 100% at the manager’s doorstep.

It would take more than tracking back to make 3-5-2 work with the defenders that we have though. I likened Rashford to Sancho on the right side as an analogue statement because I don’t think Shaw is dynamic enough to be a wingback in 3-5-2. Sancho is very much an advance creative player. Playing him as wingback diminishes why I believe we brought him in the first place. If we want to persist with 3-5-2, Dalot will be more of a natural fit for the job than trying to simply get Sancho on the pitch which is why I think Ole is trying to make such shift.

You keep playing with percentages to make the case. Manager is always 100% to blame if players are not performing. He has the absolute power to bench them if that is the case and bring on better players. But if the whole squad such as ours is underperforming, then the manager’s methods are deeply flawed and his position becomes untenable…meaning, he is fully responsible - 100%!

No. Not 100% of the **** we’ve witnessed. He bears responsibility for some of the awful performances. But some of the players in addition added their own **** to the show. It’s not black and white. Lots of stuff going behind the scenes that we don’t know about.

According to the press, it looks like Zidane is in the fold. Brendon or Zidane? I think that Brendon would be a better fit for this team but either of the men will be a massive upgrade.

I saw a Manchester Evening News article that United were trying to persuade Zidane into taking the job.

I mean, I know it's how it's worded but persuade?!?!

If he doesn't want it for **** sake, accept that and go elsewhere. That word does not bode well.

Would be absolutely typical Woodward era United that, go after the one who doesn't really what to be there. Think Di Maria, Pogba and Sanchez, rather than one who would crawl over glass for the job.

It might, of course, not really be the case but still.

More exciting and possibly more chance of trophies with Zidane. But also more risky in terms of things turning sour. France may prove to be too difficult to turn down if they come calling. BR is a safer bet, experienced in the premiership and likely to stay the course.

I think there's all sorts of clickbait going on atm. M.E.N is usually the better papers but you never know.

There's one in The Mirror saying we're going after Usain Bolt to take the job ffs! <laugh>

I think it's safe to say Ole's staying to the end of the season. Largely down to incompetence than forward planning.

Yep. In all respects he’s become a caretaker again, keeping the seat warm for someone else. I don’t know what the **** the board is thinking but it is dreadful situation for everyone. When the players know that he is not considered good enough and is being replaced. Manager in name only. How the players will behave in such circumstances is too awful to even think about.

Well maybe not if they persuade Zidane!!

If it's to be Rodgers, ten Haag or Pochettino (or indeed any other options currently in work) then yeah, likely to be at the end of another empty handed season.

I was thinking this. Remember when Fergie said he was going to quit back in 2003 and the team took their foot off the pedal. And that was with Fergie who ruled the roost. Given the circumstances with the team as it is, and Ole, it'll be much worse.

Do you think it'll happen if it hasn't during the international break.

We'd have to have some disastrous results to force them to do it. The thing is I think the Board will except us dropping points against the big boys including Chelsea coming up. Maybe even Arsenal. As long as we're picking up 3 points that make us look good elsewhere.

I think our league rank and coming results will determine whether the board/owners will review their position. If we end up in the bottom half which is very likely if we drop points against the unfancied teams, Ole will be gone.

Assuming their current decision is to wait to sign the next permanent manager at the end of the season, if what you say were to happen who would be caretaker until then.

Read an article this morning that said United have consulted Ronaldo for his opinion of Zidane. Not sure that's going to help <laugh>

Ole has proven that he is brilliant as caretaker <cool>

The club must officially announce that Ole has been sacked as the permanent manager and the new caretaker manager until summer is …Ole.

So they sack him and hire him as caretaker manager <laugh>

You know, I wouldn't put it past them!
