Meh. It's always political. Another completely different set of stewards will turn up next race and itll be all change. As much as the wolff clown has whinges you cannot have a car thats illegal against regs keep its times. They can play the poor fellows being treated badly but it's all politics and they are always at it as well. First on the radio to whinges when they can.
Fairly ridiculous and dangerous fireworks and flares blowing smoke all over very quick final corner lol. Perez got the job done. Good from both teams there.
Any decent driver would of won in that Mercedes, Bottas is poor, but he's always been a number 2 since 2017
Not Hamiltons best but definitely one of Mercedes. The car was by far quicker than all the other cars on track.
I would like to see on board shots to see his steering inputs but certainly looked like he pushed way too far off track.
It was a very strong drive from Lewis but no amount of driver talent gives you that sort of advantage on a straight. Most dominant weekend of the year and with a couple more power circuits to come, I'd make him favourite now.
Verstappen has a 14. point lead with the most wins Verstappen needs 1 win and 2, 2nds. Redbull are the better car on the corners and then there's the unknown engine drop off stuff. Hamilton needs a bottas favour OR fastest lap points to take this
Saudi should be a Lewis track, Qatar might be very close. I believe the Yas Marina circuit finale is 11 SECONDS faster this year thanks to new tarmac. If that’s anything like Turkey - where Merc were incredible on the grippy circuit- Merc would be favs there. My gut says Qatar GP might be the key race - a Max win and he effectively has to beat Bottas and Perez for two races. Ham win in Qatar and I make him favourite overall
There seems to be a few discussions that are needed about leaving space and should tests be done before teams are allowed to inspect parts for damage in Parc ferme?
The nature of Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia should favour straight-line speed. Qatar is a question mark and IMO Max really needs to win it. The other doubt is whether this extreme engine advantage will last or drop off rapidly as it wears. Honestly from what we saw today, I'd be considering whether to take a penalty in every race if I were Lewis.
I remember Hamilton getting a penalty in Austria a while back after footage came out after the race. Wonder if the same may happen here, put him behind Bottas. Almost certainly not!
