Perez has a huge role to play here But I agree with your earlier comment, this could all come down to who puts when and whether it matches a safety car or not
Even second place isn't a bad result for Verstappen ultimately, because this is the one track where a 1-2 for Mercedes was a significant possibility. Verstappen probably has more incentive to finish than he does to try to hang on to the lead, because the Red Bull doesn't have the straight line speed to hang on for 17 laps, unless Hamilton totally cooks his rubber.
Because thankfully we aren’t quite at the point where everything is sanitised. It was tough, and it was touch and go, but they’re fighting for the championship so it should be.
Absolutely. That’s how I want to see races/championships won. Not in the stewards room, unless it’s something very daft.
If Lewis can get this straightline speed in the Middle East then I'm not sure Max can do much about him winning all remaining races.
As we've seen all year, track matters quite a bit. The Mercedes has more straight-line speed; Red Bull has more downforce. So I wouldn't necessarily assume that the advantage translates in that fashion.
Yeah but the remaining tracks are suited for the Mercedes (apart from maybe Saudi Arabia as it hasn't had a race yet) and Lewis hasn't just been quick this weekend. He's been blisteringly fast. Definitely sent out a message.
