As it stands (and I think you make a good point re wingers so have gone for same formation)

    Hoffmann
    Flanagan Wright Doyle
    Winchester Neil Embleton Evans Cirkin
    Stewart Broadhead
Xhemajli is still an unknown but if his actual ability backs up his stats then he'd some in for Flanagan or Wright
Huggins has potential, but again is unproven thus far. Ideally I'd have him at RWB and Winchester in midfield

Gooch's form has fallen off a cliff since the 1st season down here. He's a nothing player right now - offers nothing on the pitch, in or out of possession. It's shame because I like the kid but maybe he needs a move

I am no fan of Gooch by any means and his form has been poor to dismal for two years now, but I watched our last game again out of boredom yesterday, and to my surprise after a shocking start Gooch improved and had a bit of a purple patch in the second half in which he was our best player on the pitch for a while, admittedly the competition in that regard was not high. I would not write him off completely but he should not start a game currently imo., and be used as a sub for a while to see if that can re-kindle the form we know he is capable of. I think the team needs a re-think , and I would start by playing two up front as has already been put forward and Stewart and Broadhead are the popular choice, I would also like to see young Harris sitting next to Gooch on the bench now and again. I am still puzzled as to why we signed Pritchard , neat feet but

I prefer to see teams play 433 these days. It suits the way the game is played and how players are coached from a young age I think.

    Hoffman
    Winchester Flannagan Younger Cirkin
    Neil Evans Doyle
    Embleton Stewart McGeady

It is how I would be tempted to play. However I do think we are short in the front 3 and we need to address that in January. I think an out and out striker with Stewart off the left could make a huge difference, but all opinions isnt it.

Great shout mate, agree 100% not trying to steal your thunder, but I have wondered recently about moving Doyle into midfield he has the attributes no doubt, quick on his feet and can pick a pass , would really like to see this team given a try.

It would be nice to see that tried. You can tell he has been coached by City where the focus is on ball playing defenders first. Like you say he is a very good passer and can make space and time for himself. He will also add a bit of natural insurance when we lose it as well. Flannagan and Younger can just defend balls in and then find Neil or Doyle when they have it. Everyone may find it easier.

Up until a month ago I thought we had both the best & 2nd best 11 players in the league I still think that I just dont know what has went wrong.
I would deffo play 2 upfront at home. Injuries have impacted on us but not imo, sufficiently to get the hammerings we have taken recently.

Transfer window I think 2 players would be enough. Another forward and a big physically imposing hard b*stard in midfield

Not sure you can include Younger, Alves and Xhemelji when theyve made one league start between them.

Because at the moment neither of them can be any worse than Wright and an out of form Flanagan which we currently have.
Hopefully we'll get shot of Wright in Jan and bring a decent imposing first choice CB
