It's not worked well anywhere it has been implemented. However you need to see it within the context of where it came from. The working class in Czarist Russia didn't get the luxury of queuing for bread, they probably only got to queue for the firing squad. Post revolutionary Russia was violently opposed by all the western governments who feared it's spread.I have a Romanian customer who is a pharmacist. When she returns now she says that the old especially are worse off than they were before the collapse of communism. It seems to have been replaced by a Mafia.
All political systems are flawed, because humanity is flawed, but capitalism is not a "system" as such, it is a force of nature that evolved over time - something Marx himself was the first to recognise. The challenge is to harness capitilism for the good of the many rather than the few, but while worrying about that, those of us who live in the west should remember to be grateful for; The right to vote Freedom of speech The rule of law Rock n Roll Coca Cola Andy Warhol The Tate Modern And all the other incredible privelages capitalism brings. In fact, f**K it, I think I'm gonna buy a gun and shoot me some commies...
The ultimate aim of capitalism is to have all the power and almost all of the money in the hands of a select few. It's every bit as undemocratic and insidious as Stalinism. I can't remember which company it was that Moore highlighted in Capitalism - A Love Story but they published a report indicating that the future economy of America would be best served if they stopped having elections and allowed big business to make all the decisions. To hell with democracy and a fair and just society.
The document exists. You are aware that this statement sounds more than a bit "internet-y"? Was the document in fact left in the pyramids by the aliens?
It was in the film. They named the company and showed the report. What do you expect? To hand out a copy to everyone who buys a copy of the movie? If you think Michael Moore made up the document and it's all lies then maybe you should contact the company and let them know because I'm sure if it was a lie they would be more than happy to sue.
I never really liked or rated Moore - for to one sided. However, Capitalism - A true love story was spot on! Walmart - taking out life assurance polcies on their own employees- called peasant policies - for their own finacial gain and not to help the deceased family! That's capitalism for ya! Also, every President has had an advisor or two from Wall Street - making decisions to benefit Wall Street (it even shows one telling Reagan to wrap up his speech!!!) To much power!
