Jeez no idea how the ref deals with this type of blood injury probably a stretcher case then an old sock for a plug and back on the field if women were anything like the guys I played with, not saying my team mates had regular periods. What about poor women and period pains ffs, they should go out Saturday night and have a dozen pints a Ruby Murray, on to a club for a few more and turn up for an 11am kick off Sunday morning. Period pains? Guys throwing up in the car park, dosing up on anadin or smoking a bit of weed to settle the stomach ache and headache and toothache after getting a tooth knocked out by some birds big boyfriend the night before. Period pain fook off
One cap doesn't make Gelhardt an England U21 star. Nktehiah has played 17 times, with 16 goals. Obviously Joffy is a lot younger and hopefully more potential when he's 21 / 22yo.
If you read what I said Mat you would notice I said Joffy has only just made it to ghe U21s but he has a similar record to Eddies at all England age groups and that means the projection is to be at least as good as Eddie, but probably better because Joffy is being coached by Bielsa to do what Belford does. So a better more complete version of Eddie. You might not agree with that..
Matt if you want to do a real comparison between the 2 players up to England U21. Eddie played 21 games and scored 19 goals. Joffy played 28 games and scored 21 goals, so like I said a similar record and I believe Joffy will have a bigger career than Eddie who has stood still since leaving Leeds
The problem that I see with fast Eddie is that in spite of him being a natural goalscorer he is no defender consequently everybody else has to do another 10% in this area with him in the team.
Agree with this but as Eddie doesnt score a lot of goals in the Premier League because he doesnt get picked and if he was a top goalscorer he would be playing more. I will back Gelhardt over Eddie
I just want a goal scorer I'm not a fan of eddie as i saw him play at elland rd. The guy had no control and could not pass the ball.
I rate Nketiah. He always seems to pop up in the right places. However, we do have Gelhardt and I'd rather give him a shot. I wouldn't be too disappointed if we signed Eddie. He has goals in him.
The red top media are doing their usual bollox and now linking Emile Smith-Row and Eddie plus £47m for Phillips. What a joke, if I ever got predictions/facts so far wrong I would have been sacked. How the fk do these idiots get away with it. Its fairy tales and journalists are supposed to give you news not make shyt up
I too rate Eddie because he was respectful, loved the fans, loved the club and did his best. However he couldnt do what Bamford does so we had a player who operated as a unit on its own, rather than a bigger unit doing it together. Bielsa was angry that he left early because maybe Bielsa thought he would make it? Eddie said he had never been fitter and breezed training at Arsenal when he got back. But he doesn't play much and probably only as much as Joffy has done for the first team this season. My money is on Joffy and the words of Bielsa, anyone who comes in must be an improvement on what we have and we know Eddie would be in the bench
I agree. If the fee is 12 million I reckon you could easily double that over the next couple of seasons. If Eddie plays he scores goals. He's young. It would be an investment but with Bamford and Gelhardt emerging I'm not sure he would play enough.
Nketiah is a good footballer… for some team. Not sure he’s right for how we play. Just a very different footballer with very different attributes to paddy. Most of the time we played him, he looked useful but the team played worse. Handy to have a quick, fox in the box in the squad, but I Don’t think the club were happy with him leaving… and if it was his choice not arsenal’s then I doubt we’d have him back.
I remember at the time Arteta had just taken charge and he promised Nketiah first team games if he came back. He was usually on the bench for us. From his point of view it was starts in the PL or bench in the Championship. I don't blame him for agreeing to go back. Bielsa was very complimentary about his professionalism whilst here. The squad liked him. He WAS improving his pressing. It is what it is. I agree that he probably wouldn't fit at the moment but he is value at 12 million for someone. Newcastle could do alot worse.
Eddie has a big decision to make about his future and is now 22yo and played 38 times for Arsenal yet only scored 5 goals. Yes most were off the bench but we need to remember that Arsenal have been playing with 17,18 and 19yo players who have eclipsed Eddies goal return. Eddie is being left behind and yes only 22 but very good players manage to make their debuts in first team football whilst in their teens, if you’re good enough you’re old enough. Maybe Eddie is the same age as Mbappe but e isnt anywhere near him in reality. Eddie needs to move even if taking a pay cut because he wont ever make it now at Arse, so for me not worth a punt unless Bielsa wants him
Didn't a move to Palace fall through in the summer because of his wage demands and the fees his agent wanted, clubs had agreed the fee but Palace pulled the plug. Suggests money is his motivation not playing football.
This is a great read and shows how lucky we were to get Sgt Wilko https://www.coachesvoice.com/howard-wilkinson-england-gareth-southgate-leeds-united-world-cup/
don't disagree 12m in the current market is worth a punt for someone… and actually I’d be fine if it was us… different type of player to gelhardt and paddy… options off the bench etc.
