I'm beginning to think that the delay is because they had to take the time to perform a summoning ritual on Balestre to come take care of it.

Well sky did their bit and showed clearly Hamilton gains from drs line to finish line over both bottas and over verstappen but still fudged it by calling it a mystery.

They also mention vetted losing podium over being unable to get feul sample.

If this was post race inspection failure Hamilton would lose all points no question. If they fudge this they are back in the old barge board ferrari argument and pure politics

Helmet saying mercs defence is Max broke the wing <laugh>. Unfortunately Max gave them the get out of jail card!
I can imagine Merc suggested lawyers would be involved if they get a penalty! No way to prove Max didn't damage the wing no matter how implausible!
FIA just have to work out how to spin not giving Lewis a penalty <laugh>

Surely they would have to demonstrate that was even possible... I just say send em both to the pit lane and be done. That'll be fun. :)

Sky's Ted just did an interesting segment. The 85mm isn't a static measurement it has a load element of 10Nm force applied.

It would be unprecedented and red bull should immediately appeal saying Mercedes cars are unsafe and should ot be allowed to run such weak wings.

And merc couldn't prove they are not unsafe as a result.

Exactly and therein lies the problem. As soon as lawyers get involved it makes FIA look stupid and the sport doesn't get results till weeks later.
FIA need to be seen to apply a punishment for failing a test.

They have the ideal situation here.

Only a few minutes till sprint so whatever the decision is then it is and both have to get on with it. Once hamilton is last and has to drive through theres no point resorting to lawyers.

    Same for verstappen.

99% of the time the appeals and lawyer stuff doesn't work unless it's a Ferrari.

Verstappen fined 50k. Right call. Makes it clear not to do that whilst acknowledging that there was no harm done.

Notably, the document is explicit that there wasn't significant force or any movement on Hamiltons wing, which surely means they have to DSQ Lewis now.

As much as it sucks it is the right decision on the technical rules.

I’d love someone to shock max and take the win so we’ve got some hope of a fight still but hard to see him beaten here isn’t it?

PS Lewis in sprint mode could be epic

Yeah...can't really argue about it, but still a pity for the title.

Merc really need to start getting their poop in a pile.

Bottas has one job to do tonight and or tomorrow

Make sure Verstappen does not get a clear run like he allowed in Mexico

Little wonder Hamilton thinks F1 are racist and out to get him

    Anything can happen yet.

Going into this weekend preengine this was a max track supposedly so now no points have yet been awarded.

Hamilton has a half hour to gain as many positions as possible and anything could yet happen to verstappen today.

Then theres another start to gain positions. Hamilton should still podium here as all he needs is get to 4th on a track you.can pass on and bottas will pull off the track unless he is 1st.

Then theres 75 points left to play for.

Has to be fireworks and hammer time not whiny lewis. Whiny lewis never won a thing, whiny lewis has gone backwards at times v Rosberg and others but hammer time does things nobody should be able to.

It's up to hamilton which one turns up today.
