He always seems glass half empty with regards to City I genuinely feel he only like doing the comen Do you ever get the feeling he revels in Hull Citys demise? He is definitely glass half empty regarding City unless he’s had a good night out in London pre match with Swan. Much prefer Brian Hughes.
it says in today's hdm "Ilicali began life as a sports journalist before moving into television production, and now with a host of channels in Turkey, he’s become one of its most famous faces - so much going out for dinner or a walk to the shop is a challenge given the level of interest in his life." evidently very advanced for his age. i began life rather helpless and with no interest at all in sports.
.. and tbf, there is some truth in that part of the post ; Bruce event said as much on occasions (albeit the rest of the post was perhaps a bit ott).
He dropped out of uni in Istanbul and opened a cloths shop. He went bankrupt at 21. The reason he made it as a Sports Journalist was in the way he put together short vids about players and clubs. He produced a travel show that really got him to be a household name. But Deal or No Deal took him to another level when he brought in special guest stars like Bruce Willis. It might be a bit concerning that the bought TV8 after the owners were ordered to sell by the President of Turkey! Assem Allam must love this blokes history. Acun looks to be a very likeable fella.
I don't think he is. Seems to say it how it is for me. People complained that he avoided the difficult questions to the Allams. When he did he got lambasted too. Then he was stopped doing commentary. This is where we are now.
Try negotiating with the Chinese and the Indians ! The former eventually accept your final price - but every year after ask for it cheaper - and cheaper! The latter will agree a price finally - then just when you think its all cut and dried ask for another reduction! Not that I ever got frustrated - taught me to be firm - resolute even !
And theres the brain washing bbc Tells it how it is ffs How could he have got lambasted for asking the difficult questions he never ever asked ffs
I spent thirty years buying the majority of my wares from China, I’ve always found them very pragmatic, honourable and easy to deal with. India is a disaster to deal with, the world’s most disorganised nation by some distance.
Hi Olm I tried to suggest that once we’d got there with the Chinese they did respect the relationship but always did what a buyer should I suppose - get it for less if they were buying a bit more , but several were spending up to 1.5m dollars a year with us .
People have said this in recent years, but it coincides with things being ****. He isn't going to sit there and say it's great when it's ****. No one ever accused him of being negative when we were good and there were things to be positive about.
I was at that game where we lost 1-0 to Watford at home. Troy Deeney scored from 20 yards out. City played crap. I had to drive 215 miles home with my Watford supporting mate in the car smirking at me!!!!!
I like Burnsy, he’s passionate about Hull as a city and that’s something you don’t get with everyone, and City success adds to that. A lot of modern commentators are very stale and don’t seem natural whereas that’s different with Burnsy. As PLT says he can’t be positive when it isn’t positive and even more so when he has been treat poorly and pissed off by people making his job even more difficult than it already is. Each to their own though, I’m sure there’s people sat there now enjoying Sam Matterface commentating on England. I aren’t, despite the score…
Exactly … the same for me. I like Burnsy, he is one of the biggest promoters of this area we have! Yeah the commentary is a bit hit & miss, but I enjoy the programme. Burnsy to stay for me
