How angry? As angry as wearing balaclava's at an academic's place of work, trying to get her sacked and sending her death threats? Do you mean that angry?

Like getting more angry about imaginary ambulances stuck behind climate protests than queues of real ambulances stuck outside A&E departments.

Probably not that angry. More TalkRadio/you can’t even call yourself English without being arrested nowadays/getting upset when people speak a foreign language on the bus kind of angry.

As long as both the real and imaginary ambulance drivers wore proper red poppies I don’t mind.

Criticising anyone for speaking their own language on a bus is small minded and parochial. Criticising a powerful lobbying group for blackmailing businesses and councils in its own interests is perfectly reasonable imo

They’ll probably be banned soon if we let Labour have their way.

I can only imagine the sort of people who would get angry at a rainbow zebra crossing! Probably the sort who have anger issues to start with or have nothing better to do, like the curtain twitcher every street has!

Interesting trans-related conflict within the BBC, that is a microcosm of what is happening around the country. (Mostly) younger BBC employees are saying, trans people must have full rights to self-identify - no debate. More mature, (mostly female) employees are saying, this could compromise women's safety and there needs to be a discussion. The new Director General of the BBC agrees with the latter in the interests of impartiality. He tells the intolerant trans supporters that there has to be a conversation within the BBC and during BBC broadcasts, and furthermore, they may hear things they may not like.

The trans supporters call the new DG transphobic, tell him he can't have a view unless he's a trans and are threatening to leave unless their demands are met.

DG is saying (effectively) - sorry you take this view, but **** off then

There's the rub, "They may hear things they may not like", just like the rest of the population who are sick of the tail wagging the dog...

Opinion polls turning against the Tories with one giving Labour a six point lead.

The sleaze stuff has cut through a bit, finally. Still think if there were an election tomorrow it would be another comfortable Tory majority despite one poll but there’s an opportunity to keep hammering them on corruption on top of all the other **** to come in the next year.

He’ll be binned if the wind is deemed to be blowing too hard the other way. If he’s no longer appealing to whoever the **** was drawn to him before then there’s really no point to him.
