Just had a walk round town this morning

depressing doesn’t come into it

there’s hardly any decent shops

 

The same across England sadly I went into Kingston Upon Thames this week a fairly affluent area it was awful I thought I was in a poor Northern Town.

 

Same in Leeds really - loads of boarded up shops. Only went in Zara and Decathlon

 

Yes, but we have iconic boards on the shop windows.

 

Strange cos I went to York and leeds recently and both were great and far far better than Hull

 

Don't know about Leeds but York must benefit from more tourists than Hull, it's also more compact so a bit easier for it to look busy.

 

I’m on about the shops

 

York is in the top few cities in the UK for international tourists and will get a lot of UK tourists with the National Railway Centre, Yorvik Centre and the walled part of the city. Leeds won't get many foreign tourists but the Armouries, a good day out, and festivals at Roundhay Park and the shopping attract quite a few.

 

I know, I'm suggesting more tourists=more shops.
