I'm not disputing the figures as it's well known what they are, kind of. Whether yours are particularly accurate or not I don't know. With regard to lockdowns safeguarding the vulnerable - no, lockdowns alone won't do that. For example, the governments policy of sending elderly patients back to care homes without being tested for covid was a massive mistake and led to many avoidable deaths. And all this after Matt Hancock said they were putting a ring of steel around care homes . Large scale testing was also key, and the government spaffed billions on a "world beating" test and trace programme that was implemented too late and no where near fit for purpose . PPE for hospital staff woefully inadequate leading to hospital staff getting infected leading to more stress on the NHS . In my view the lockdowns were more about preventing infection in the wider population to prevent the already stretched NHS from being completely overwhelmed. Simply saying "protect the vulnerable" is almost impossible if the vast majority of people are walking around around going about their daily lives. By the way, "the vulnerable" is not just old people that no one cares about. Timely lockdowns (not dithering for weeks like we did) and all the other measures were the only way to protect the vulnerable. But that's just my opinion.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/vi...over_your_attack_on_humanity.html?jwsource=cl What a vile racist woman Corey Bush is. It is scary that she got enough votes to be elected. Her questioning has one agenda. Moderate white people will watch her and think that she speaks for the black population, she certainly does not. Winsome Sears is 100 times the woman that Corey Bush is. I cannot believe they allow her to stoke hatred in the Congress.
One of the secrets of having low covid cases is to have low testing hence many deaths are not attributed to covid Just compare Swedens testing rate with that of the UK and you will see a big big difference
But you can't lock down everyone so it's a gesture. Asking a fit 20 something couple to stay at home is nonsence. There are a multitude of workers who can't lock down and there are many more who were forced to lock down and it has ruined their lives. You say a builder can't build an extension (outdoors)for that 20 something couple because someone he will never meet might catch Covid? Ridiculous. Have the figures exploded since we've reopened? I had the Astra Zenica jabs in May so I'm pretty much unprotected now but I've been working the whole time. I think I might have had it anyway. Look at cancer deaths per month against Covid (within 28 days of a positive test) deaths. What the government could do is give the breakdown of those who have died. Ages, health issues, ethnicity and probably even cause of death as it might not have been Covid, and you might breathe a little easy. They don't because they want to keep you in a state of panic. My advice is to research the headlines you see or read. Usually they're not the whole truth
We all surely know a lot of the deaths attributed to covid have been of another cause (the 28 day positive scenario) recently Italy have down played the numbers of official deaths to a more likely number.....you test positive today with covid and die of a heart attack shortly after the covid one is the one that will be recorded....how can that be accurate statistics, do people think that if this eventually dies out another virus won't be circulating around somewhere along the way, being going on since time immemorial
I'm not a doctor so I don't know the exact facts here, but I think if you get covid and die of a heart attack within 28 days your death certificate doesn't say you died of covid. It says you died of a heart attack with covid as a potential contributing factor. But yes I agree it can be misleading, what's more relevant is the number of excess deaths which is undeniably higher due to covid.
Lots of things could contribute to a heart attack, would they put them all on the death certificate?.....family history being one maybe... I'm sure the figures like Italy's are maybe over estimated to a degree, some families have been disgusted to find covid being put on the certificate, and have complained to doctors over it
It's not a gesture, it's an attempt to minimise the risk to the wider population, to reduce the number of infections and consequently the number of people being hospitalised until the vaccination programme could begin. Fit 20 somethings still contract covid and pass it on, many without even realising it. The first lockdown provided the opportunity to prepare for the inevitable second surge and we should have used that time to ensure enough PPE was available and the testing program was up and running (properly) so that we could avoid future lockdowns. There's no perfect solution to this but if you're going to lockdown you need to do it fast and not dither like we did, time after time.
I don't want a date, and I'm only 4ft 2 Like I don't want to give my medical records when I go to the pub or a gig I won't give them on a forum if I want you to know I'll tell you to your face, little man
Well yes, but the family history would be a known factor. Covid is a respiratory disease which can lead to severe breathing problems, putting extra strain on the heart. Like I say I'm not a doctor but say if you had asthma and had an asthma attack that lead to a heart attack that killed you. Would asthma be mentioned as a potential contributing factor ? Like I say, I don't know it can be misleading.
Contributing.....not the sole cause, how many covid deaths have been just the sole cause, as I say Italy have revised it down
Good question. Probably not many purely covid deaths. But how many of those wouldn't have died if they hadn't contracted covid ? Like I say, it's a contentious issue and it's the excess deaths that is the really significant figure.

Didnt realise until the other day but the term sambo comes from the Caribbean and was a derogatory name for someone of mixed race and not fully black.
