I see the labour communist section has leaked that starker was demanding he be allowed take a lucrative second job himself but corbyn vetoed it. Another labour of and makes starmer the old boy school type look as bad as the tories.
Oh please, he’s flatly denied it and no it really doesn’t as many will try and makes this a politician issue, it isn’t, the ‘consultant’ issue is virtually exclusively a Tory problem. The Cox issue should never be repeated, but in terms of law breaking, it’s the use of his Parliamentary office, and the renting out of his tax payer paid for flat that will see him hauled over the coals, which is ridiculous given his ‘2nd job’ earned him around £1m.
Those Tory MPs renting flats London at tax payer expense whilst renting out the properties they own for profit are claiming the rules forced them into it as otherwise they wouldn't claim anything. Well no, just live in your own property that is already bought and paid for and don't claim anything additional to to your salary that you don't need. You do not need to claim just because others are.
An example of what's called a tu quoque fallacy: an attempt to exonerate oneself from wrongdoing by claiming others are just as bad. You'd never get away with robbery or murder by claiming others are doing it but somehow it's ok when it comes to corruption and exploitation.
One of the reasons, if not the main reason, why I dislike politics so much is that people pick a side and become so entrenched in it that they can no longer see or even acknowledge the wrong doings of their side. Everything boils down to how bad the other side is and objectivity is lost. I've been present at, but not participated in, too many heated debates that left everyone involved feeling angry and I wondered why they did it to themselves. None of the talk had any impact on changing or influencing anything. To me, over the years, it just seemed a waste of time that spoilt relationships in some cases and I think that's why I made a concerted effort not to get involved. Since the pandemic and lockdowns etc. along with trying my hand at a few creative activities, I have taken a bit of an interest in politics both here and in the USA just to keep my brain engaged in something and honestly it all seems to me to be a training ground in how to hate.
Its more a case that they felt they would miss out as those who didn't already have homes in London could claim money to rent somewhere to stay, so those people would get more than them. They felt compelled to claim even if they didn't need to!
Just watched the highlights of the 5-2 win against EFC in December 2019. Origi and Mane were unstoppable. Where did they lose their way?
That game from origi was stunning. It was the best he ever played imo. He didnt play for months after and couldnt repeat it.
Did you lads hear the story, the driver locked the scumbag in his car after seeing the wires and let him blow up in the car. Just got out.
I just saw the video thats on bbc website. the car literally pulled up and went bang so the lad had to get out after it blew up!
The guy whose round the car trying to see in and help I hope will feel better that the guy what done it didnt need saving. The sun roof bloody flew out. Probably saved the guy a bit
Anyone been reading or following the Azeem Rafiq hearing today. Some pretty shocking stuff coming out of it. Being forced to drink red wine at 15 Gary Ballance calling all people of colour Kevin Jack Brooks gave Pujara nickname Steve cos he couldn’t pronounce his first name which then stuck and even Shane Warne then referred to him as during India Australia test last year.
It alm has to come out and the lot fired. Vaughan should be straight off sky and careers over. The rest should be following suit.
Vaughan went into automatic defence mode. It was 10 years ago and its his word against others so he may or may not have said it. But for him to say he definitely didn’t is basically saying a guy that’s been racially bullied and harassed is flat out lying. Not a good angle. he should have said I have no recognition of saging it given it was 10 years ago however if I said something that he has taken offence to them I sincerely apologise and would be happy to have a conversation to help settle and issues and will use it to learn from mistakes made etc.
