Cheltenham 14,55 Back On The Lash 7/1 e/w PP and betfair four places, Sky 13/2 five places Edit: Sky also 7/1.
Looks like that Irish rogue Mr Martin has one pointed at this at the bottom of the weights. I fancy an ew tickle on Vocal Duke at 14s. Don’t know much about the trainer other than he is yet another Hendo apprentice to got it alone.
And talking of rogues i fancy an English based rogue to have a decent meeting. Brian Ellison has Nietzche in the PP and Cormier in the Greatwood on Sunday. Both 14s. Ew singles and the barney
Cheltenham 1.10 Asserted I've the feeling this former Joseph O'Brien trained runner could outrun its odds today. Lightly raced and progressive in Ireland I think the horse will improve for its stable debut at Aintree last month in a race where a stable companion has won. Will have no ground worries today and Jack Tudor always dangerous to dismiss in conditional events.
Very quick Cheltenham picks... 1:10 - The Wreckin, 14/1 1:45 - Editeur Du Gite, 10/3 2:20 - My Drogo 2:55 - Diesel DAllier, 11/2 3:30 - Off Your Rocco, 11/4 4:00 - Samba Dancer, 9/1 No bets, just a bit of interest while i await finishing at work...
Hugely competitive 2 mile handicap chase at Cheltenham coming up and it should be a fantastic spectacle of jumping at speed. Last year's winner Magic Saint is the obvious place to start as he goes off the same mark and, although a different jockey to last year, Angus Cheleda takes off the same 5lbs that Bryan Carer did 12 months ago. I am pretty certain this is a deeper contest than 12 months ago and he is an uneasy fav at the moment. Cheleda is not the only 5lb claimer in the race though - Lilly Pinchin takes 5lbs off Fanzio's back and (more interestingly for win purposes) Gary Moore puts Niall Houlihan up on Editeur Du Gite. The winner of the Red Rum chase at Aintree was put up 8lbs for that victory and was probably held when unseating at the last at Ascot on reappearance but he should have come on for that and can take this.
Yep Thought greenness was going to cost him but he just held on up the hill. More to come from him I reckon.
My Drogo just stumbled on landing, he'll be fine over fences. Looked like he wanted to go much quicker actually, I think we'll see him to much better effect in a truer run race.
