They are ****ed this season imo. He has been brought in to get them promoted next year. That will be a huge task as well, the top end of the championship is excellent. Not sure he is the man to do that but all the best to him.
At least he'll get 6 months publicity on match of the day, don't know if he will be cut out to get them promoted next season, though there could be other jobs on offer in the summer...
I think this is a daft move and it could cost him his shot at succeeding Klopp. Just puts him right into the merrigoround of mediocrity.
Seen this happen a lot. Planning for next season, but by the time next season comes around he's lost so much goodwill that they sack him a few games into the season Similar thing happened with Solksjaer at Cardiff IIRC That German lad a Huddersfield too
Agree. Villa are in descent after a good 2nd season (mainly due to Grealish). Not sure bobbing around the fight for 17th place will do Gerrard any favours. Villa will stay up based on the fact there are (at least) 3 teams worse than them, but I cant see them doing much else
That would be my guess. Think he'll be the right type of manager to follow on (no pun intended) from Gerrard.
Interesting manager Dean Smith. Loved how his Brentford team played but a quick look at his record and its very average to say the least. His teams seem to have more style than substance.
Its going to be really interesting down there at the bottom of the Prem. One or two Managers reputations on the line. Obviously Smith and Howe but I think Gerrard may have a job on his hands as well.
