We are going to get slated for not talking about the take over on this thread since GE changed the topic to him having no friends, but what can we do a friend in need as they say .
Yeah, but you should still go there. It's between the north bank and south bank and you can only see it at low tide....
You got 31 days to the end of the exclusivity period and need 300+ pages You need all the help you can get. And besides, I'm bagging 1500.
To change the manager & DOF before January is really risky. Rome wasn't built in a day, so I don't see the rush. The aim for this season is 21st & with Reading's point deduction to throw in too, we aren't far off at all. A decent gaffer and sensible steady recruitment in January will see us climb the table.
Mate. With respect. Bollocks. Get the new team settled, get them to know their players ahead of January, then see what we can do in the market.
Agreed, new manager is essential ASAP so that they're informed for the January market and knows what he's working with.
Management change is fine. DOF is a massive change that can wait till the summer. We saw what happened when LD came in last minute, we blew a load of money on ****e. There's no way a new DOF can understand what a new manager wants & for us to sign players in early Jan (which we need to do). Neither are even in position & aren't likely to be for 2 weeks at the earliest. LD knows the English market well, I'd assume any DOF would be foreign. All we have to do this January is loan a few decent experienced players to get us up the table. We saw the impact Elphick made the other season, a CB of his ilk would be perfect and preferably a striker who can hit double figures over a full season. If we can bring in a defensive midfielder and someone to create as well then great On the whole bad business is done in January, we just need to do enough to get us through to next summer where we can make real changes
That's a whole lotta cliche. You can consolidate quite effectively in January. It's going to take years to build a project, but we're looking at 3 or 4. Not a whole squad.
If you're happy/understand that it's a long term project you don't bring a DOF in at the start of December for the January window which is absolutely crucial to our survival. You most certainly don't bring in a foreign DOF. January is a horrible window and I can't remember the last time we did good business in it. I suppose last year was alright but the players who came in struggled to make an impact on the whole (Whyte did alright mind). 3/4 would be great but realistically they all need to be starters (3 do for certain & it's the spine of the team too). That's pretty major surgery for January. I aren't bothered seeing us spend transfer fees unless someone is available for a knockdown price. I'll happily wait till the summer
I thought I'd seen that the Consortium didn't necessarily see it as a long term project but were aiming for the PL in 3 years to then flip the club.
Off topic I know but do you really still buy DVDs? I honestly can't remember the last time I bought one (or a box set) must be even longer since I rented one. The last rental place I know here close at least 4 or 5 year back. We still have a DVD player somewhere but its not even attached to the TV.
You don't think whoever they decide to bring in has not known for awhile and would be doing homework now or even know who they would be interested in?.
