If Mr (or Mrs) X gets paid £82k as an MP, but gets £1m+ as a lawyer or lobbyist, then surely being an MP is the '2nd' job In which case, banning 2nd jobs makes a lot of sense!
If an MP can not cope in a £65,000 wage, plus up to £30,000 for office expenses, plus getting heavily discounted food, drink and childcare at the House of Commons plus being able to claim for lunches, breakfasts and dinners then they are greedy, money grabbing ****s who should not be MPs.
Alternatively, if an MP cannot cope on £65k p/a, they should not be allowed to slash £20 from anyone's Universal Credit - and certainly not sing karaoke at the Tory conference voting to do so
Not when the 2nd job requires being in a position to abuse the 1st. It's like being a bent cop. The crooks won't pay you unless you're in the police.
I find it remarkable how the BBC keep giving airtime to people who won't get vaccinated for whichever doolally reasons they give, and in the same piece then try and say that it's only social media which is responsible for the spread of antivax propaganda
I see they're going for the "Look at Diane Abbott drinking a canned mojito on a train" gambit again... Oh, and going North Korean with the media
Johnson's "the UK is not a corrupt country" statement, apart from being a global embarrassment when delivered at the global COP26 Summit, sounds very like "I am not a racist" - the most popular refrain from racists! He might as well have even added "Some of my best friends are corrupt"
