Well after just watching a Whale explode (very sad) that's quite a shattering announcement.!! So long McCant and welcome Shota. Will he be in place for Birmingham.? Acun doesn't hang around. So now its just waiting for the EFL to sign off on the deal.??
So just to remind some of you again, (can we make it a header for every page) it will be done when it's done then I will celebrate as much as everyone else. There was a time when the Allams (you know them who are actually selling the club) were so sure it was a done deal they said their fond farewells in the match day program. It turned out they were wrong. The biggest and best ITKers spouted off too early. That's why I take everything posted on here (on this subject) with a pinch of salt.
No one has ever said the club is sold. Just what is going on at the present time. We are at the same stage as the yonnges bid and it is subject to FA approval. It was nothing to do with the Allams that that bid failed, and it was absolutely true that they had agreed to sell as reported here and everywhere else. It's one thing being sceptical that it will go through, it's another thing entirely doubting info that at the time is 100% correct and attempting to discredit those bringing that info.
I never said it was the Allams or anyone else for that matter why it failed only that it did when they were confident enough to put what they did in the program. Show me where I an attempting to discredit anyone.
can I ask again, do we know which person or persons at The EFL completes the sign off ? https://www.efl.com/-more/all-about-the-efl/efl-board/ In theory one of these people could raise an objection & the whole thing is off like it was with the Yonnges ?
There would need to be grounds for any objection. There are pre-defined rules. I think it's an independent board. I know the PL clubs only got to object to the Newcastle takeover being ratified after the event. But someone will know better than me the precise mechanism the EFL uses I'm sure.
I don't know the names of the individuals who actually do it. It's not something I've ever been close enough to for me to know
It depends who it is assigned to. There isn’t any worry that anybody in the consortium won’t pass it. Acun has a massive profile in Turkey, he wouldn’t front a consortium full of dodgy people because it could cost him everything.
Now we have a name re. our new manager, perhaps we understand why the plan is for a DOF? Meaning someone with British football experience / knowledge? Or could it even still be Darnborough, but with a different brief?
Tell you what, I'm ITK on this one. After weeks of negotiation a DOF has been identified, he has experience of British football in most leagues, knows the club well, and his name is.....Ehab Allam! It's ok, don't shoot the messenger
Can we have the ITKs working a little harder now? @Howdentiger2 @Steven Toast Who’s the new manager? Director of football? Who are we signing? How much are we spending? Ta.
Nah he's opening a real ale bar at the back of East Stand - Assem's Bar, (bit like Cheers) - Ehab will be the Woody Harrelson character...
