I wouldn't claim that Brexit would make it better but have noticed that The Guardian appears to have stopped it's daily "empty shelves crisis" articles as, umm, there is no crisis. OK, sometimes in Waitrose they have ran out of asparagus, but that does not constitute a crisis. Maybe it does to a few Guardian readers though, especially when they have to change the dinner party menu.

 

When I grew up you could only buy fresh Strawberries and corn on the cob in the summer .

We would pick berries when they were seasonal.

I like Avocados from Dominican Republic and honey mango from Pakistan, Watermelon from Spain.

We should go back to growing our own food and accept some things are seasonal.

Strawberries bought in winter time taste like **** and have spent a week on a lorry.

We have become too decadent as a people .

Everything grown locally and fresh tastes better anyway.


Still not tried any USA chlorinated chicken yet , some on here were obsessed by the prospect.

 

Avocados were the most exotic thing ever, didn't like the taste personally.

 

Had a corn top white roll with sliced left over roast jerk chicken avocado and mayo today for lunch .

Hmmm, I won't have mayo in the house. Just microwaving my curry lamb, steamed cabbage and rice and peas for the fourth night running. It's good.

Today at work, every time I went for a pi5s, I lurked in the bogs letting off as many noxious fumes as I could muster before I went back to my desk. True story.
