I searched the board to see if there's any news, but no joy so here goes... ...what happened to the bloomin' thing? Me and some of my family stumped up cash towards the flag and haven't seen it once despite being at all the home league matches and one away. Did the flag ever get bought and if so why isn't it out at every home match?
JekyllAndHyde, I echo your thoughts. I also donated for this flag and I'm slightly bemused as to why it hasn't been used. It's a really nice flag to pay tribute to Markus but at the moment it feels like money gone to waste
Who has the flag then? Does the club have it or does somebody else? I agree, the flag looked great pre-season, I can see no reason why it shouldn't be used again.
Perhaps the club believes it's for the Leihberr Memorial game only whereas the supporters thought it was for all league games.
Nicola made up the difference between what was raised and the cost of the flag...would guess he's got it. In the trophy room perhaps? Could it be in the Leihberr lounge...anyone on here eaten in there?
I would imagine it's in the Liebherr Lounge and it should be brought out for the big games! Maybe get a line going across the roofing and half it dangling from it over the half way line! Maybe a little optimistic but I think it would be a great way to remember him when we play Pompey and it'll give their fans someone to thank for allowing them to watch a great football club play for alot longer
whats the point in buying it if it aint used? West Ham would have been a great oppurtunity for us to show it
Was West Ham not a big game then? Record attendance crowd suggests to me it was. Indeed, after Popmpey at home, surely West Ham at home is the biggest of them all?
Did anyone hear about that guy who took donations to make a huge memorial quilt for 9/11? He never made it and bought himself a new house. Just saying...
They'd have to find somewhere to hang it. Would you trust our fans to pass it over their heads? Need a few practice nights.
I was sure that it would have been used against Leeds, Leeds are a massive club and it was our first game in the Championship, I donated as well and am shocked it still hasnt been used!
The Don would be the best man to ask about the flag. If anyone happens to go to one of those Chairman meets the fans events, then I urge them to pose the question.
Yeah, I posted there too but no reply. I thought it was going to be out at every game so disappointed not to have seen it.
