I get that he's not putting the blame entirely on it, but as soon as he mentions it, it becomes an excuse "Why are we losing games?" "Confidence is low" "Why is confidence low?" "Players reading negative comments on social media and the SOL is a difficult place to play" Strip away the rest of the bullshit and THAT is what he is saying. Maybe he only apportions 5% of the "blame" on us, but the fact he's saying it means he is still giving us some of the blame. Who knows? Maybe he's right, but it's a brave/foolish man to come out at the first drop off in form an suggest the fans have anything to do with it
In this interview he says it could be things on social media, things on fans forums, something a coach has said, something fans have said, something a team mate has said, something a family member has said that could affect confidence. Reading criticism of the fans into that is hypersensitivity in my opinion.
Winners accept responsibility and learn from mistakes. If everyone gave up after a setback and criticism, nobody would achieve anything. It's up to him and the players to put right what is wrong.
It was actually regarded as the king of the dinosaurs. "Leading science circles" know that and acknowledge that more than thinking about a T Rex's calculus and trigonometry skills. So you happy with being regarded a bug then? Well in that case I'm happy with the T Rex vs bug comparison.
Once a manager blames the fans, even remotely, he's lost the plot (as far as I'm concerned). If LJ keeps going down this path and not take any accountability then the fans will turn on him even more, create even more pressure which will, in turn, bring about even more losses. Sunderland needs to be out of league 1 asap. You have the players to do it (from what I can see) and you're certainly not out of automatic promotion contention. If you aren't there or thereabouts though by the end of the season and LJ keeps blaming everything else then he probably needs to go.
Here's a simple question. Irrespective of NUFC is Howe or Benitez the better manager. Opinions are welcome, no prizes or punishments.
Apparently now they're trying to suggest Howe is an interim manager. Not exactly what they were hoping for is it ... ... and now their owners want to buy two bigger clubs than Newcastle. Not exactly pushing the boat out along the Tyne are they.
"Something a coach has said". If he's blaming the fans, he's equally blaming the coaching staff. The acknowledgement that there's a confidence issue suggests that he knows he's got some work to do on that area. What makes you so sure its his coaching or his tactics? The data suggests that we're still the better team in most games but conceding soft goals.
To be fair, I can see your club wanted Conte and you got Howe and you were convinced your club were going for Mbappe and now they are looking at Phil Jones, I mean why would you not be on here showing off your excitement for your club’s future.
Could be a canny long interim this mind... Don't care how they dress it up, it really isn't what they were hoping for.
Dunno. However blame Nig for this, he's the one who got my post from our board, brought it over here, and said you were proud of your position as a bug.
Your new owners treat some people a bit like insects don't they. If they don't like them, they get squished.
