Is it just me, when a new manager takes over, it is usually stated that the players are not very fit, they hardly do training etc. I probably think this is a load of bollocks, but there is a need to pretend that the new msnager will train them harder and so they will win games? How far a team runs during a game seems to have became a key statistic lately. A case of if you have the technology you have to use it? Obviously having fat, unfit players who eat a lot of pies and drink 20 pints a week, means they are unlikely to be successful footballers, in a successful team. I am not too fussed how far a team runs, if they score say 3 goals and keep a clean sheet...they are doing fine... if they are getting walloped 5-0 and nobodies running, closing down or tackling then there is a problem.
It's a common and lazy assumption. There is unfit (like most of us on here probably) and there there is fit (like a footballer should be) Now, some managers (DiCanio/Parkinson) make a point of getting their players extra fit but that doesn't necessarily make them better players. IIRC Charlie Wyke wasn't blowing out his arse after 70 mins when Parkinson was manager but he was still utter ****. Fitness is about 10% of the solution when it comes to building a successful team
In the days before plantar fasciitis, gout and arthritis knacked my feet, I used to run/jog 3 times a week. That did not per se make me better at sports or just living, diy etc. It just meant I was fit to try and do that stuff. Training, eating, sleeping well is only the basic foundation of being able to play football...the rest is ability, good coaching, playing time against good opposition and mental health and confidence... LJ Is now saying social media is affecting the players ffs.
I don't understand why this is treated with such incredulity to be honest. Numerous studies have shown a link between social media use and low self-esteem and/or depression and that's just amongst the general public. That effect must be magnified much more for people who's job is critiqued by all and sundry to the nth degree. It won't be the sole reason for our recent poor performances but I don't think it should be dismissed out of hand.
The fact he's calling out as an excuse for us losing games is risible, He's blaming everyone but himself.
Said to the kids last night I think the biggest cause of depression etc today is social media. And they agreed. And depressing little shìts like this (Greta) spewing their misinformed bile. Have a listen to the Australian bloke hitting the nail firmly on the head. Nothing could be more depressing than being a mag though. And I say that in all sincerity, not as a joke.
Impossible to say mate, they're all just another anonymous username but talk the same drivel. Apart from QUOD and Sombrero they all have the same dreary personality.
Ah yes. https://www.not606.com/threads/mags-embarrassing-themselves-yet-again.389315/page-167#post-15316144 Thick twát.
In the interview directly after the game he acknowledged that confidence was low and then listed a number of examples of factors that affect players' confidence. Social media was just one of them, so this idea that he's using it as an excuse for losing games is inaccurate. We don't know what he's saying behind closed doors but it certainly won't be the same as what he's saying in public. He may well be shouldering plenty of the blame.
yes he told us to "comeback when we have two more titles". In reality that is all we should respond to him with. It was a bit of an own goal
same way I see it mate he’s not actually said a players been getting grief, he used it as an example and that’s what’s been jumped on.
Yeah I posted the link but it's worth posting again https://www.not606.com/threads/mags-embarrassing-themselves-yet-again.389315/page-167#post-15316144
When i said another two more titles and back in the big time i was referring to L1 title and Championship title to get you back into the same league as us ...obviously you don't need to win the title to get promoted but you lot can't even ****ing do that either so it was a rather stupid comment to make in the first place. And he called me a thick **** as well....top bloke !!
Oooh missed this one. You do realise T-rex is regarded in leading science circles as being a slow clumsy scavenger that wasn't very bright ? Yep, a fat, slow dopey fooker with little arms and shìt eyesight that wallowed around scrounging for scraps.
