I may be wrong about what Schlem is saying, but I don't think he's talking about how they're being prepared but moreso the fact that different parts of the world have different types of pitches. These are usually determined by soil and climate. Places like India, Pakistan and I'm going to guess Sharjah etc are hot , dry climates with soil that is also dry and breaks down easier making it favourable for the ball turning. The ball tends to keep low as well.

Aussie and SA are also hot, dry but soil composition is different making the ball bounce more and greater pace. England a colder, wetter climate but different soil composition again, more clay, so less pace but once again the ball bounces more. The soil and climate favours seam and swing.

Even if the pitches are being prepared independently, these factors may be impacting on the average scoring.

It's also why when touring teams will look at this when picking number of spinners, seam bowlers and also why some can be successful at home but struggle abroad.

    Let's hope so.

It'll probably be Australia v New Zealand though, would be bloody typical!

Condition wise, this is Pakistan to win all over it.

It's like playing at home for Pakistan.

I read somewhere after their final group game they've won 15 T20 games in a row in UAE.

Having said that, they have this ability to completely cock it up when it matters <laugh>

Looking at draw I would make Pakistan slight favourites to win outright due to Roy injury. But could be any of the four in this format as all are strong sides.

Batting first not been a benefit in this tournament.

They'll need to amass a big score here.
