Good at sport. I heard Dwight Yorke chose football over cricket and his friend I think it was Brian Lara who chose cricket over football. Both played both sports as kids and could have played professionally in either sport.

 

Seems they picked the correct sports.

 

Each had to choose aged about 15, Lara surely made the right choice.

 

Laura yeah, you would definitely say so and even though Yorke wasn't a footballing superstar, he still did very well.

There's a lot of people in non-league football/club cricket that play both, one season ends another one starts.

 

A lot of football clubs were originally cricket clubs

 

Including a few Italian ones.

 

Don't think I knew that about Italian ones, interesting.

No big deal really, he's good at his sport but the standard wasn't up to his ability here so he went away to live his dream, we can hardly complain when you look through the Irish rugby team in the last 10 years, pity we can't do it for the football team!

 

Maybe I am being slightly pedantic, but what really annoys me is how the BBC(an no doubt other outlets, in factvmaybe it is just a cricket thing?) use decimal points for how many balls have been bowled. For example if utvhas been 3 overs and 4 balls they would say 3.4. Surely a decimal point shouldn't be used if it is only going up to 6? Wouod be different if there were 10 balls per over.

 

Just me then?

 

I did notice that and it threw me on occasions counting how many balls were left,is it an imperial measurement thingy?

 

Yeah, 1 over is equivalent to 4.5 litres.
