Calcio Mercato claim that Juve would be willing to let Weston McKennie leave in January if they receive an offer of £17m Given he was linked with us during the summer, worth keeping an eye on
You don't seem to have a thread for oddball bits and pieces so am posting this here (mods delete if you wish, i will understand). Just watching an MLS match between Montreal and Orlando, Monteal have Wanyama playing for them (which many of you may know) but Orlando have a player named Van de Varter which i thought was quite amusing.
I know it's wrong to believe these compilation videos but if the Kessi and Vlahovic are anything to go by then yes please , now if we can only find someone to hit a dead ball past the 1st defender
Skriniar Watch Tutto Mercato Web report that Skriniar, along with Dusan Vlahovic, is one of two names that Conte has handed to Paratici with the instruction "Get it done" ...however CalcioMercato report that Inter are set to offer Skriniar a bumper pay raise so he signs a new contract, meaning they don't have to look over their shoulder next summer as his contract ticks down into its final twelve months CB Watch CalcioMercato are linking us with Monaco CB Benoit Badiashile, who has allegedly on our radar in the summer of both 2019 and 2020 and it's not hard to see why, because even though he's only 20 he's already a key part of Monaco's back line and looks like a proper unit as he's 6'4" and has the physical presence and aerial threat at both ends of the pitch that go with that, but is also pacey and can play it out from the back...and is contracted until 2024, so effectively what we need is Monaco's season to plateau, and luckily we're currently halfway there as they lost the Shakhtar in the CL qualifying round while their domestic form is currently pretty poor as they're not balancing their domestic and Europa League campaigns well Also, it is worth noting that he's left-footed, which would give us a much better balance in the back line - although that's not what Joe Rodon wants to hear
Vlahovic Watch Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Arsenal have attempted to get in contact with Dusan Vlahovic over a potential move - but his agent isn't even answering their calls
Gianluigi Longari says we’ve got a registered interest in Brozovic Rudy Galetti says Conte has requested the signing of Kessie. But here’s the big one… Eduardo Inda (no idea who he is but he better be bloody reliable!) says Conte wants to re-sign Bale in January…. An elite manager in his prime in charge of an elite front three? Yes. ****ing. Please.
Weston McKennie is once again doing the rounds, although so far none of the Romano/Di Marzio set are putting their names to anything concrete In other news, Julian Alvarez scored four in River Plate's 5-0 win over Patronato the other day, and we certainly could do with another striker...
He looks uncannily like the bloke who tried to steal LadyC's pint of Guinness and use that as an excuse to ask for her phone number at the Toucan last week There's definitely a Last Night in Soho joke in that anecdote somewhere...
Torino CB Gleison Bremer's also being linked, although Torino are reportedly offering to treble his wages in order to convince him to stay, no doubt worried that he's entering the final eighteen months of his contract Given he's on £18k a week at Torino, that certainly gets him on our radar because there's plenty of wiggle room in negotiations
The Bale rumours are gathering strength.... I'd have him back (again) in a heart beat, but thought he was happy back in Madrid. We can but hope. Just be another nail in Danny Boys coffin for not keeping him last summer, as apparently GB had already prepared for that and was ready to take a big wage cut.
Same... It's a no brainer for me. Still easily a quality player. I don't know what happened in the summer, there seemed to be conflicting rumours all throughout the season that we had an option to extend, then we didn't, then Bale wanted to stay, then he didn't...But if there's another chance to bring him back again, we've gotta take it. That then allows Conte to keep with 343 if he likes because with all respect to Lucas, Bale is league's above him. Jose absolutely ruined his initial return to a degree though, I've said a few times already that's one thing I can't forgive the bloke for, we got robbed of arguably the best front three in the league alongside Pool's trio for most of the season and the most ironic thing is, if Jose had actually played Bale more then it could have saved him his job, at least til the end of the season anyway, because Bale's goals per minute ratio in the Prem was the best out of anyone, if only he'd had more minutes we may have seen one or two draws or losses improved.
It was a madness we let Bale go without replacing his goals and experience. I'd say the departure of him and Lamela have hurt us more than any player's departure since Walker went to City - and then at least we got one decent season out of Trippier. Our wide attackers are now a collection of players who don't score, don't assist, don't have experience and don't have a fire in the belly. Hearing 60,000 people chanting Bale's name would be spine tingling stuff.
Where would Bale fit in though? I guess 343 rather than 352 - no way is he a wingback anymore. 4 in the middle would leave us a bit light though.
Yeah I think if Bale were to return it’d be 343. We’d still need to plug the positions needed regardless - creative CM, a quality CB and a second striker - but adding them AND Bale… ooooff, me likey.
