Probably Allisons worst performance in a LFC shirt. I know Trent scored from a free kick, but he was rubbish except for that.
C'mon, sooner or later we were going to get beaten. West Ham played to their strengths, a little agricultural at times I thought. It goes without saying we didn't defend the dead balls well but WH are a big physical outfit. Someone suggested Konate may have been a better choice.....maybe. Lets be real, we've just equalled a club record run so I don't buy in to the doom and gloom.
I'm surprised Konate didn't have any part in the game. Robertson needs to learn to cross the ball. Mane should have put us 2-1 up. Ironically from Robertson's only decent cross.
Disappointing but 4 points from the top so let’s not be all doom and gloom We played poorly but it’s small margins. Cresswell should have been sent off Mane should then score at 1-1 And mane should then score at the end for 3-3 They scored 2 from simple corners. Could easily have drawn that game and on another day won it. Against a team very strong on set pieces and who after scoring first just sat back and frustrated us. We needed to get in front to open up spaces for us to play into but hopefully lesson learned. Go against arsenal back at Anfield, a game we have to win now given they would also go above us. Chelsea have early away game v Leicester so banana skin there and Man City don’t play until the Sunday so great chance for us to close the gap.
People complaining about lack of fight obviously forget about the second half against Man City after being dominated in the first half. We still need better midfielders that what’s currently at the club
Did you say the same when we let a 2 nil lead slip against brighton, or when we drew 3 3 against Sheffield utd, or when we we where lucky to get the winner against Madrid after being 2 nil up.
Very disappointing, but all unbeaten runs have to end somewhere and whenever it was it would be the end of the world again on here, so I'm not going to buy into that. At least it was to a team on a roll, and not to a Norwich or Newkie. I'm not sure what we were playing at by being so narrow on the right. Trent coming infield all the time gave Salah no-one to play with and he was peripheral except when he too came inside to try and get involved. It all made it too easy for them to crowd him out, he had 3 or 4 players on him every time he got the ball and few options beyond trying to trick his way through them. It also left bloody big gaps for WHam to break into down that side. Robbo must have been told to cut back his crosses rather than play them into the crowd, but then there was no-one running onto them, and even if there were, they'd be faced with that same crowd. Alisson let the big boys bully him, and others stood around watching it half the time. Can't think of much else atm - a game to learn from and move on.
Thought we set up wrong,we didn't set up to take them on we set up to defend against them.We should have played our normal game and let them worry about us .We were reactive and not pro active.
