An error from the goalkeeper hands Mansfield a win in a game in which we were otherwise dominant. When Burge made a similar mistake in the playoffs, he was the worst goalkeeper we've ever had and needed replacing immediately. After today's mistake, its the manager that needs replacing immediately. Doesn't make sense to me.
Not sure if you're trolling now. We were dominant? No we were not. Mansfield were worth their win. We were lucky to get to half time 0-1. Second half was a little better and could have got the draw but we were certainly not dominant.
Over the on the lost changing room thread you said you preferred to deal in stats. Well, we had 62% possession to their 38%. Nine shots to their seven. Four shots on target to their 1. We were dominant over them.
I do but it's when you dive into the data properly and not just use simple stuff like the above. We mostly have more possession that all our opponents. We do nowt with it. Teams let us have it then press when we get past the half way line, take the ball then break in numbers. They were very threatening on the break. They should have scored a couple more in the first half. Crossbar and one off the post /just wide on a one and one. Those won't show in the stats either. We were not dominant. Ask anyone who was there.
We were dominant, in that we had more possession, created more chances, and had more shots on target. I grant you that we did not dominate, insomuch as we controlled the entire game and looked like we would steamroller them. The words have slightly different meanings. My original point still stands.
Did Speakman not choose LJ though, if so he will be reluctant to admit that its going wrong. This is just a thought, as I am not privy to how the club is run or who is responsible for what, as an example, I dont know who picks the players to sign, but I do know who picks the team and who makes the game time changes and I can see him getting it wrong game on game. Even so I don't expect him to change anything, certainly not anything that might prove him wrong, so again we will just have to wait and see, unless of course you can just loose interest, it has been known.
Still happy for him though, there's always a silver lining, mine is listening to Rob Mason before the game, the dark clouds come later. But I find not listening to the after match interview often helps. Actions speak louder than words.
If it is speakman that does the hiring and firing then I think we’re gonna see what kind of person he is, a honest ruthless and successful man would accept he made a mistake in his hiring of Johnson and deal with it appropriately, a weak man would just wilt and carry on as normal
Arguably though, a strong man would stand by his convictions and a weak man would bow to pressure from the fans.
Pretty sure this isn’t just pressure from the fans mind, especially if the owners already had reservations about him staying at the start of the season. I’d love to see the bloke succeed by the way. Just can’t see it happening.
Could well be the case. I tend to take rumours like that with a pinch of salt mind. I'm not saying the owners didn't review his position at the end of last season but there a lot of variations of what that could have looked like in reality.
Some terrible finishes there, especially evens. And the Hoff needs to learn he can’t just play tippy tappy all the time just get rid kidda.
