Leeds Utd wage bill 19th out of 20. So not bad going

Leeds United’s spending on wages is currently more than only Brentford across the entirety of the Premier League, according to Spotrac.

With a total of player payroll of £17,926,800 per annum, the Whites rank 19th in the player wages table, which is just under £200 million less than what first place Manchester United fork out.
Norwich City, who have amassed just two points on their return to the top-flight, also spend almost £7 million more than Leeds.

Over half of Leeds’ player wages is currently going on the attackers, with the likes of Daniel James, Raphinha and Rodrigo all likely to be on big money given that they have all been signed since being in the Premier League.

Patrick Bamford, who was also reportedly one of the club’s highest paid players in the Championship, is also likely to bump that figure up given that he was recently rewarded with a new five-year deal in August following his excellent season last year.

The outfield area that Leeds currently spend the least amount of wages is in the midfield, with a total of £2,353,000.

So the biq question thread about having a multi billionaire owner makes no sense really does it. How the hell can Leeds ever compete at the very top unless we have some very very good players who buy into the project and have a top coach who can improve players.

Being over £200m behind Man Utd in wage payments is ridiculous when we actually pay less than £20m

And yet Dyche still hangs on in there, shame really if it was down to me I'd sack him just for being him.

He was told to Farque off because he was in danger of keeping them up and Norwich's business plan revolves around bouncing and parachute payments whatever Phil Hay says

Just looking through Music Magpie for some second hand books. Came across a biography of a chap called John Gregory. Remember him? Pretty near the top of my 'Hated Managers' list. Wonder what he's doing now? Bin man? Burger flipper? No idea, but I'll hazard a guess that he's not in Customer Services!

Last I heard he was managing in the Indian Premier League.

Edit : See he resigned in November 2019 after winning the Indian Super League Trophy with Channaiyin FC and was replaced by Owen Coyle

What club wouldn't want relegation and the financial loss it brings instead of staying up. I'm surprised it's not as keenly fought for as winning the league.

2 points dropped today after a real positive performance and back to last seasons state of play. However it makes no difference up front if the final ball doesn't come. Harrison and James were the main culprits again, even Raphinha didnt make a difference. Rodrigo should have scored but the greed and the wrong decisions and final ball hurt us badly again. Another point earned though and will have shut a few pundits up. Bielsa must be frustrated as hell though as we deserve much more.

Top marks for Llorente closely followed by Struijk, Raphinha Rodrigo and Forshaw.

This may have been one Bielsa decision thats backfired because as it turned out we needed left back cover afterall and playing for top of ghe Championship club Bournemouth and having fans raving about you is a good sign. He started at LW when he got there and did well but got injured and Scott Parker has had him on the bench for a few weeks, but came roaring back yesterday with an assist and a Mom performance
