Our boys back in action at 14.00 hrs today vs Sri Lanka. We beat them 3 - 0 in T20s earlier this summer, but on home turf.
England need 190 to beat SA. SA need to win to pip Aussie. Would rather have SA out, but will be a big ask for us
Decent contributions from Livingstone and Ali today but we've been too reliant on Buttler. Need more from Malan, Bairstow and Morgan, though he's looked OK last 2 games. Much as I'd love Afghanistan to beat the Kiwis tomorrow, I'd equally love to see India fail to qualify. Which suggests a New Zealand win is on the cards
England opener Jason Roy will miss the knockout stages of the T20 World Cup after being ruled out with a torn left calf. Roy, 31, sustained the injury in defeat by South Africa on Saturday in England's final group game. England, who will face New Zealand in Abu Dhabi in the semi-finals on Wednesday, have called up Hampshire batter James Vince to replace Roy. "I'm gutted. It is a bitter pill to swallow," said Roy. "I will be staying on to support the boys, and hopefully we can go all the way and lift that trophy. "It has been an unbelievable journey so far, and we have to continue expressing ourselves and concentrating on us." Big loss, but we can overcome this. Bairstow to step up
Yeah, it's a shame he's out, but these things happen (Aussie radio were there sympathetic selves about it yesterday)
Know several Aussies here in the Philippines, and they are keeping a low profile, which is highly unusual for this arrogant race.
53 - 2 after 8. Buttler and Bairstow in the hutch England 166 after 20. Could go either way NZ 13 - 2,good start for us. NZ win by 5 wkts with over to spare. Cracking game, well done NZ
Morgan has been a magnificent skipper for us but I thought he got the bowling options wrong. Moeen totally unused for some reason after opening the bowling in a couple of earlier games.
Agree about the none use of Mo, but Morgan is miles ahead of any past or present candidates for the captaincy. Only Buttler could be a possible candidate, but being wicketkeeper and our most important batsman, he has more than enough pressure on his shoulders. We were beaten by a quality NZ team. No need to panic.
