Other than the new CB pairing, I'd be pretty happy with that. Hanley is a big loss. I'd still rather give Sorensen a chance over McLean, but there we are.
WhoScored: Norwich Weaknesses Finishing scoring chances -- Weak Aerial duels -- Weak Defending against skillful players -- Weak Defending against attacks down the wings -- Very Weak Defending against through ball attacks -- Very Weak But take heart, we apparently have one great strength: Protecting the lead -- Very Strong (Er, wait a minute ............)
Here you go again Robbie, making statements about things you can have no knowledge of. No Skipp replacement because DF did not want one? Ermm, we waited some time to see if we could get him back because, I assume, not know, we wanted a quality DM. By this time every DM option was either unavailable or out of our price range. Possibly a mistake in strategy, but hardly in intent.
If someone wants to sign Skipp from Spurs I doubt they would listen to bids under £25m. That apparently equates to Farke not wanting a replacement. Normann is the last minute bargain basement loan replacement of Skipp, but a completely different skill set. RobbieBB is like the opposition fan clowns that say we are not ambitious enough whist they buy £97m strikers. He's only ever around when things aren't going well to say "I told you so " . When we were romping the division last season he was nowhere to be seen . I wouldn't be surprised if he's a bitter twisted Ipswich fan with an unhealthy obsession with Norwich.
I think that makes more sense as a lineup. Brentford are 3-5-2 so we're matching them up numerically in central midfield at least. I hope Dowell has the freedom to come inside to try and create, there's no 10 in the side and wingers crossing to Pukki is pointless.
I like it as well. Good to see Rashica and Dowell getting another chance in support of Pukki. Both are capable of providing the service he needs and both carry a set-piece threat as well. The midfield 3 has a strength about it and should facilitate progressing the ball to the attackers. I think it's a first time partnership in defence, but hopefully Williams will stay back more to protect the left flank, though both PLM and McLean are capable of dropping back to cover when necessary. The whole shape has a good balance to it.
Better than I feared. At least there looks no chance of hoofball with this line-up. It's looking like Gilmour's on his way back to Chelsea, though.
We are so awful away from home and all the other unflattering stats that I'm expecting another loss but maybe one of Farke's little miracles today
