In today's earthly goings on everything is an ist or an ism!.......and they look about 10, dirty minx's
Or a Tulip, surely a Tulip is the most inoffensive flower, now a pansie that's a different kettle of fish.
Yes shaks you had to be born in Yorkshire back in the day, it was that particular rule which destroyed my dream all because my Dad worked away for a couple of years. Think I may have told the story before, but it was whilst I was playing representative cricket for the U16's when I was age 14 that one of the selectors came over to ask where I was born. After that they just weren't interested anymore. Doubt very much that black players would have been barred, but cricket back in those days was very class orientated and which school you went to seemed to be of equal importance to ability...rugby (union) was very much the same as well and don't get me started on golf clubs and their membership criteria.
I think the reason that was given at the time to the black and asians was that they were playing for the wrong clubs at the time. I suppose a bit llke football clubs where they have feeder teams. Now that was the official statement at the time Jammy.
Other than perhaps the highest upper echelons of our society all doors have been open to me Roger. Is it just coincidence that I'm a white british male ?
