You could well be right. I always saw him just as a dyed in the wool Blade and nothing else because that was the impression he gave when Sheff U were struggling in the Prem. He surprised me last week on MOTD because he was obviously putting himself in the shop window for a job. I just don't think he is on our radar. City haven't spoken to him but cannot speak for anyone else.
I think the thing is, we can't expect too much. We're not going to get a flash manager and whoever we do get, if he keeps us up, he'll deserve our support.
We’d be punching with Wilder massively. Excellent bloke and manager. Very much doubt he’s want to take this job though.
I'd not be surprised if Wilder had already been offered and accepted the job in principle. Supposedly favourite to take Barnsley and Cardiff jobs and neither has happened.
New owners on the horizon .. a possible decent budget .. not too far from were he did his best work .. I'd have Wilder in a heartbeat and I suspect even given our current position, we don't look a bad prospect for him.
In his defence, Brewster wasn't a first choice target. He was given money that summer but none of the players he really wanted
Tom Huddlestone is a good shout. He's tactically aware and I know for a fact he likes it here in Hull. I'd love it if he got the job.
I'm surprised how keen people are on this. He's a special player. I want to see him fit and playing again. Management would surely mean retirement as a player.
I remember a quick fire interview with two City players. One was Curtis Davies and I'm not sure but the other might have been Elmo. Anyway, when asked who in squad was most likely to move into management/coaching, they both instantly replied Tom "He knows the game inside out. .
